Nigerian tries to blow up plane in Detroit

WASHINGTON – A Northwest Airlines passenger from Nigeria, who said he
was acting on al-Qaida's instructions, tried to blow up the plane
Friday as it was landing in Detroit, law enforcement and national
security officials said.
Passengers subdued the man and may have prevented him from detonating
the explosives, the officials said.
"We believe this was an attempted act of terrorism," a White House
official said.
Federal officials imposed stricter screening measures after the
incident.

Any details on why he got past security in the first place?
Security hasn't been diminished since the Bush days, so it would be
interesting to know.
They still demand that I take my shoes off and can't carry more than
30 ml of liquid per bottle while entering the USA from Canada.
The cocksuckers they nailed in Toronto were not operating on
instructions from al-Qaida, they were like the buggers in London who
were "al-Qaida influenced". (a bit like how heavy metal rock and
video games supposedly influence spree shootings by teenagers, I
guess)
Then there's the fact that the death threats against Obama have been
well over ten times the ones on Bush.
But I guess the latter is ok with some people. Just like when the
1996 Atlanta Olympics had a bombing by a radical anti-abortionist that
killed 2 while maiming 100, or McVeigh who killed far more. I didn't
see the right come out of their homes and protest it on the streets
and decry the actions of those evil people. As they demand of anyone
else whose background does.
You know the ones. They were the right wing imbeciles who said
(incorrectly) why weren't Muslims decrying the shootings at Fort Hood?
The fact is, if you want to identify someone by their country and
imply that they are the problem, look in the mirror first before you
blast off with bull shit.
