According to the article above, the Party for Socialism and
Liberation is officially condemning plans for a U.S. attack on
Yemen.
However, since the PSL officially endorsed Barack Obama for
president, it is difficult to criticize him or his policies, so
the PSL has decided to blame "The Pentagon," "U.S. imperialism,"
and Senator Joe Lieberman rather than blaming Chairman Obama.
Despite his title as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces,
Chairman Obama has no say in a U.S. attack on Yemen, nor does it
seem that the Democrat-controlled Congress - with its
Constitutional authority to declare war - have any say in the
matter, because The Pentagon is all-powerful.
I previously predicted that the leftist 'anti-war' movement
would lose a lot of momentum once Bush left office, since it was
always an anti-Bush movement, with the war as sort of an excuse
for radical socialists and communists to gather and praise Cuba
and North Korea.
Now it is Democrats who are declaring war on third-world
countries, and the socialists and communists who supported them
are finding it difficult to take a firm 'anti-war' position
without being accused of ideological heresy. So they blame the
Republicans, the Pentagon, U.S. imperialism, capitalism, Joe
Lieberman, and everyone except the Democrats who actually voted
for the war.
PSL is fairly representative of the radical left. But if you
don't think so, let's see what more 'mainstream' socialists have
to say about potential war on Yemen:

"[Sen. Robert] Byrd also criticized Bush's request for power to
carry out 'pre-emptive attacks' and send troops to Iraq, Iran,
Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, the West Bank and anywhere else in the
Middle East.
"'I cannot believe the gall and the arrogance of the White House
in requesting such a broad grant of war powers,' Byrd said.
'This is the worst kind of election-year politics.'"

Oops, that was from 2002, but so far CPUSA has taken no position
on Obama's planned attack on Yemen.
CPUSA does have rather strong opinions on Obamacare (they
support it), and Michael Moore's new movie (they love it).

"On December 21, President Bush announced that the U.S. was
sending 'help'--meaning war materiel and U.S. Special Forces
units--to countries around the world."
"Yemen, a country on the southern coast of the Arabian
peninsula, is one country where such 'help' was already in
operation. Starting on December 18, tanks, helicopters and
artillery pounded mountain villages and hillsides in Yemen's
Marib province--killing dozens of people."
"Now it is reported that preparations are being made to attack
Somalia. After meeting with Donald Rumsfeld, a senior German
official said that U.S. action against Somalia was not a
question of 'if' but 'how and when.' Vice President Dick Cheney
told the Washington Times: 'Clearly that's one we'll look at.'"

Wow, that one was from 2002 as well. Revcom also seems to have
no position on Chairman Obama's planned war on the same country
they condemned Warmonger Bush for plotting to attack.
Revcom does briefly mention Obama's escalation of the war in
Afghanistan, seemingly passing no judgment on it and quickly
changing the subject by discussing the Chairman's Nobel Peace
Prize and his bold plan for worldwide nuclear disarmament.
I really have no idea why I'm responding to this with anything other
than "are you serious?"
