The Diaz Ayala Cuban and Latin American Popular Music Collection
The Diaz Ayala collection resides at the Green Library, Florida
International University. This site provides a searchable catalog
containing information on the approximately 100,000 items that span the
history of popular Cuban and other Latin Music. The collection features
25,000 LPS; 14,500 78 rpms; 4,500 cassettes containing radio interviews with
composers and musicians; 4,000 pieces of sheet music; 3,000 books; and
thousands of CDs, photographs, videocassettes and paper files. Among the
collection's rarest items are recordings made in pre-revolutionary Cuba.

Lydia Cabrera Collection, Cuban Heritage Collection, University of Miami
Lydia Cabrera was one of the 20th century’s leading writers on Cuban
folklore and an internationally known chronicler of Afro-Cuban culture and
religion. Her collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, original
drawings, field notes, interviews, photographs, illustrations, and paper
laces. This collection also contains documentation about the restoration of
several
colonial buildings in Cuba.

Manuel R. Bustamante Photograph Collection - 1890s-1999, Cuban Heritage
Collection, University of Miami
Over 600 historical photographs available. Dating from the turn of the
20th century to the 1930s, the bulk of these photographs were used by the
Munson Steamship Line of New York in their publication, The Cuba Review,
which was also published as The Cuba Bulletin, between 1903 and 1931.
Beginning in 1899, the Munson Steamship Line ran a freight line and
passenger service between Havana and New York. These photographs, along with
hundreds of images of Cuba from other sources, were donated to the Cuban
Heritage Collection (CHC) at UM by Manuel R. Bustamante over the last four
years, along with documents and memorabilia related to Catholicism in Cuba.

The Reinaldo Arenas Papers
Princeton University. Reinaldo Arenas, novelist, storywriter, poet, and
essayist, was born in Holgun, Province of Oriente, Cuba, on July 16, 1943.
The Reinaldo Arenas Papers consist of typescripts and manuscripts of novels
and novellas, short stories, plays and screenplays, poetry, nonfiction,
correspondence, and miscellaneous and printed material.
