Yes. It's true. So, why doesn't the CIA begin to peel back the
technological timeclock and fight the war in Afghanistan with 1950s
ideas? Their enemy is using old style war techniques, that run little
circles around the modern war machine of the United States. If the
CIA went back through its files and got all the rejected ideas from
its spy hardware idea department from the 1950s, and updated the
rejected technology, perhaps they would enjoy an intellectual renewal
uprecedented in modern times. I fault the CIA for not taking control
of its own intellectual history (do they have an intellectual
historian on staff??) and also not peroidically reveiwing its
rejected ideas and strategies for doable concepts using todays (or
yesterday's) technology.
