This idiot who likes to post uniform regs ought to read them. Holding
an umbrella, or a meatloaf for that matter, over the POTUS is a
perfectly legal order.
Apparently this issue is all over the right-wing blogosphere as
nutjobs jizz all over themselves with statements that the president
caused a Marine to violate uniform regulations. They are unable to
distinguish, it seems, that the Marine in question was "operating" the
umbrella, not carrying it or making it a part of his uniform. He,
apparently, HAS read the regs and understands what a legal order is.
Also that the POTUS outranks the Commandant, who works for him.
Oh, a tray of canapes is not made part of the uniform when carried
either.
