The only thing that matters anymore are ideas.

Imposter nyms & sock puppet shows are soon outed and then they have
the indirect effect of focusing attention on ideas and ideas only.

Ideas get out no matter what the noise.

Should ideas always be the only thing that matters?
Would judging, discrediting or ignoring ideas
based on "who" presented them be similar to
the media's biased reporting?

At a minimum independent thinking and the generation of ideas should
be occupying more and more of your time. Wikipedia made scholarship
irrelevant.
Everyone knows the facts will get out effortlessly.

About a decade ago a woman on the BBC said it best -- "Anything less
than genius just won't do."

> Would judging, discrediting or ignoring ideas
> based on "who" presented them be similar to

Up until recently the legacy media were much worse than that. They
would torture any link to slavery or Hitler if a politician promoted
the sovereignty of the people on economic issues.

Most everyone laughs at teabaggers saying Obamacare was "just lke
Hitler" but how is that any worse than the _New York Times_ branding
anyone who supported democratizing monetary policy a "populist" which
was, once upon a time, NY Times code for "Hitler Stalin Ross Perot and
David Duke all rolled up into one huge monster?"

Cheap communications to point out all their inherent contradictions,
i.e., Art I, Sec 8 is "just like Hitler," etc.,now makes it easy to
force the shills to back off this approach.

Another lucky factor is the high % of posters here who try to piggy
back off the legacy media by emulating their style as well as [lack
of] substance. The more they do a poor job of aping the media the
more they undermine the legacy media and/or force the legacy media to
back away from some of the noise they put out.

That's not a good idea.

The following is OT...but it's the weekend! ;-)
You should be here today...we're having The Assault on the Carolinas bike race:
http://www.assaultonthecarolinas.com/
It's ~70F/30% Humidity...sunny and beautiful!
This race is probably too tame for you, but you can still make
the Assault on Mt Mitchell which is a bit more challenging:
http://www.freewheelers.info/assaults/assaults-general-info.html
(Check out the altitude profile down the page!)

"Assault on Mount Mitchell-
This year will follow the same great course as years past:
102.7 miles with 10,357 feet of climbing! "

At one time I could gain altitude at just about 1 ft/sec for over a
half hour.

Today I do a few interval sprints up a 52 ft hill and I've never
gotten it under 32 seconds.
