Here are some war reports from July 13, 2007:
BAGHDAD - Coalition and Iraqi forces have killed or captured hundreds of
al-Qaeda members in Iraq over the past two months, including 26 of the
terror network's "high-value" leaders and a would-be bomber, the
Multi-National Force-Iraq spokesman said.
U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Kevin Bergner said combined forces have shut down an
important terrorist information artery.
****
MAHMUDIYAH - At a time when Coalition Forces are focused on training Iraqi
Security Forces, the Multi-National Corps-Iraq deputy commanding general
visited an Iraqi Army Compound in Mahmudiyah July 5 to witness a testament
to their success.
Maj. Gen. James Simmons handed out certificates and personally
congratulated 17 Iraqi Army soldiers who graduated from a Warrior Leader
Course for Iraqi junior soldiers and noncommissioned officers.
***
FORWARD OPERATING BASE PROSPERITY - Over the course of the last month,
Iraqi national police medics assigned to the National Police (NP)
Headquarters in Baghdad have been training with the medical staff of Company
C, 15th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry
Division as they work toward opening their own medical clinic next month.
The partnership was formed after soldiers with the National Police
Transition Team assigned to the NP Headquarters approached the leadership of
"Charlie Med," and asked for their assistance with the project.
***
CAMP AL TAQADDUM, Iraq - Marines from Company I, Battalion Landing Team
3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit,
discovered 500, one hundred-pound bags of ammonium nitrate July 11.
Marines stopped two 18-wheel tractor trailers while conducting a vehicle
check point north of Karmah. The ammonium nitrate, a common ingredient in
improvised explosive devices, was found during a search of the vehicles.
***
QARGHULI VILLAGE, Iraq - An Iraqi citizen who has been working with
Coalition Forces during the past week led them to two caches in Qarghuli
Village, Iraq, a known terrorist safe haven.
The local resident accompanied Soldiers of the 4th Battalion, 31st
Infantry Regiment "Polar Bears," 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain
Division (Light Infantry) out of Fort Drum, N.Y., on a dismounted patrol in
the village July 12 and led them to two caches.
***
BAYJI, Iraq - Elements of the 4th Iraqi Army Brigade detained the leader
of a terrorist sniper cell in Bayji during an intelligence driven operation
in Bayji July 12. The targeted individual is allegedly responsible for
leading attacks against Iraqi and Coalition Forces, including attacks
against the joint security site in downtown Bayji.
Two other individuals were also detained during the operation.
There is plenty more where that came from - all sorts of news which would
seem interesting for the MSM to cover in depth and bring more facts to light
about...so, what were the AP headlines from the war for July 13, 2007?
Soldier Shoots Himself to Avoid Iraq
Reservist Tries to Stop 5th Deployment
Ex-Abu Ghraib Guard Named to Rec Board
This is not to say that the AP shouldn't have reported those three
stories...but can we begin to understand why a lot of Americans are
frustrated with the war? There are stories of American and Iraqi heroism and
victory, and they go unreported in favor of reports about a coward, a
reservist who has been deployed too much (and thus his case should be looked
into to see whether the military is properly ordering deployments) and a
court-martialed soldier who's name is best left un-remembered.
If the MSM would only report one story of heroism per day, the whole
attitude about the war would change - and that, good people, is precisely
why the MSM won't report such stories; and that demonstrates the MSM bias
against American victory.

On November 8, 1923, Hitler held a rally at a Munich beer hall and
proclaimed a revolution. The following day, he led 2,000 armed
"brown-shirts" in an attempt to take over the Bavarian government. The small
Nazi Party first won national attention in the Beer Hall Putsch of November
1923, when the Ruhr crisis and the great inflation were at their height
Tell that to your repuliscum friends. They don't want communication! And how
dare you blame the democratic party for the Bush politics of personal
destruction.
And forget the left and right, let's just compare bushie supporters with
those who think he is a criminal (because he has broken many laws) and an
immoral cretin (that means idiot) because he has lied and lied and lied.
You know those supporters - the ones who have called us traitors and
suggested we should be executed (hello Ms. Coulter). How is that for
"personal attacks?"
Remember when bushie said he wanted to bring people together instead of
dividing people? How has that worked out for the country? In the final
analysis, our anger on the "left" is all we have - moderate reasoned
discussion and negotiation DOES not work - not OUR choice - yours!
Get a clue, useless troll!

Point of order:

Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Georgia, Japan,
Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Portugal,
Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

You forgot Poland.
Also forgot to mention how many of the countries
still in the "coalition" which are reducing their
troops levels in prepartion for leaving entirely.
And you forgot the American people, too.

It was supposed to be 78 Iraqi Army soldiers. I wonder where the other

BAGHDAD, Iraq - In a rare battle between American and uniformed Iraqi forces,
U.S. troops backed by fighter jets killed six Iraqi policemen and seven gunmen
during a pre-dawn raid in which they captured a rogue police lieutenant, the
military said Friday.
American commanders said their forces had come under "heavy and accurate fire"
from a police checkpoint as well as surrounding rooftops and a church during
the raid, in eastern Baghdad.
They said the captured lieutenant was a "high ranking" leader of a cell they
suspected of having links to the Quds Force, part of Iran's Revolutionary
Guards. The Iraqi police had no comment.
The U.S. military has repeatedly accused the Quds Force of arming Iraqi militias
with weapons and explosives. The Iranian government has denied those claims.
The Iraqi police are widely thought to be infiltrated by the Mahdi Army and other
Shiite militias, as well as by Sunni insurgent groups.
In a briefing in Washington, Gen. Peter Pace, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff, said the Iraqi police had opened fire on the U.S. troops and that made the
police legitimate targets.
"The fact of the matter is that there are elements of the Iraqi police and
elements of Iraqi army that are infiltrated, and the Iraqi government is working
very hard to work their way through that," he said.
