In the major cities such as Moscow, English was a required course of study. One could get out of this by studying another major western language such as German or French. I seem to recall that Italian or Spanish weren't an excuse, unless you showed particular talent.

First off, I wasn't aware it was *your* homeland.
Are you just permitting the rest of us to reside here temporarily? Or do we actually have some rights of our own?
