"The looting is out of control. The French Quarter has been attacked,"
Councilwoman Jackie Clarkson said. "We're using exhausted, scarce police to
control looting when they should be used for search and rescue while we
still have people on rooftops."
As Sen. Mary Landrieu flew over the area by helicopter, a group of people
smashed a window at a convenience store and jumped in.
At a drug store in the French Quarter, people were running out with grocery
baskets and coolers full of soft drinks, chips and diapers. One looter shot
and wounded a fellow looter, who was taken to a hospital and survived.

Looting broke out in some New Orleans neighborhoods, prompting authorities
to send more than 70 additional officers and an armed personnel carrier into
the city. One police officer was shot in the head by a looter but was
expected to recover, authorities said.
A giant new Wal-Mart in New Orleans was looted, and the entire gun
collection was taken, The Times-Picayune newspaper reported. "There are
gangs of armed men in the city moving around the city," said Ebbert, the
city's homeland security chief. Also, looters tried to break into Children's
Hospital, the governor's office said.
On New Orleans' Canal Street, dozens of looters ripped open the steel gates
on clothing and jewelry stores and grabbed merchandise. In Biloxi, Miss.,
people picked through casino slot machines for coins and ransacked other
businesses. In some cases, the looting took place in full view of police and
National Guardsmen.
Blanco acknowledged that looting was a severe problem but said that
officials had to focus on survivors. "We don't like looters one bit, but
first and foremost is search and rescue," she said.

BUT
On the other hand, stealing electronics and appliances,
clothes, jewelry, and other valuables, is just plain old
thievery and these type of looters need to be shot on
sight.
One scenario that has not come to light yet, is the hundreds
of thousands of gallons of fuel that is in all the submerged
vehicles, and underground gas storage tanks.
If the water stops flowing, and becomes stagnant,
oil and fuel from vehicles and fuel tanks is going to
leak, forming a surface coating, which will probably be
extremely flammable, and covering thousands of square
meters, and somebody lights a cigarette.....
Ever seen a fuel fire at sea, stop and think about a fuel
fire in the sunken city of New Orleans....
Might see a lot of toasty looters....
If the looters are real smart, they are going to abandon
their area, and become refugees, and get the hell out of
dodge.... Its going to take weeks, if not months to
get the water level down in New Orleans, and then what
have you got.... one big mud hole, take years, if ever to
clean up, and rebuild... everything decomposable, will
need to be burned, or hauled off, and the rest bulldozed
into a base layer for a super landfill project.
With a bit of luck, all the looters, and their loot, will
be on the bottom of the muck layer. To be found by
archeologists in the year 2929, when the sunken city
of New Orleans is found, and unearthed, with wonder
about what happened here.

I'm sure there are whites among the looters. But what I see in this looting
after these tragedies is overwhelmingly 'not' white. And I wonder
too...about the white participants. I put dogs in the same room and the
docile ones will take the aggressive one's lead and they 'all' become
aggressive as a group.
You are all just trying to make me insane though; I mean, I see the sky as
one color, and no one else seems to want to...bending over backwards to make
excuses why the sky is this or that color, but not what it IS. Mark my
words. Blacks are pulling the entire world down into animalism and
depravity...and as caucasians lose more and more control of things [as
demographics predict], you will see civility dying out in a big way because
there will be no 'moral' underpinning to 'why' we behave this way or that.
With black influence, and during disasters like this hurricane when strong
armed 'authority' is not around, people in general (by their influence) will
divert back to 'mobs'...aggressive and volatile.
You all have to know I'm right on this. Why does everyone look away;
pretend like these looters are equally represented by all people. After
several decades of black influence on our own kids, many young whites are
little more than punks now. Civilization is in dire straits...all because
caucasians can't come to grips with their 'responsibility' to maintain their
own creations.
And white women are now the pits. Personally I put the blame squarely on
them and their acceptence of black males as suitors which has forced white
males to aquiesce to a less defensive posture; to even embrace this rape of
what we are [by many...ergo the wiggers]. What have they wrought upon us
(caucasian women and their liberal political protectorate)???
The looters are even trashing the hospitals, including a childrens hospital:
http://www.comcast.net/news/index.jsp?cat=GENERAL&fn=/2005/08/31/211927.html
"One of the things they have got to do _ we've got to plead for _ is to make
sure that when these hospitals get evacuated, the National Guard or somebody
is there putting major security around these hospitals, or they're going to
get ransacked. And it's going to make a bad situation even worse," said John
Matessino, president of the Louisiana Hospital Association.
He said the four hospitals in New Orleans' central business district _
Tulane, Charity, University and the VA hospital _ had the worst problem with
would-be looters.
You are correct in your entire piece. Just look at Africa so the truth of
how they really are.
Somehow, I don't feel any pity for the businesses that are being looted.
The vast majority of those businesses are the same corporate thugs who pay
politicians to ignore immigration and sell us down the river with free trade
agreements. Corporate free trade agreements that shipped jobs out and
corporate salivation for cheap labor have created much of the problem for
themselves. Maybe if they had been lobbying for things that would keep and
grow a prosperous middle-class instead of creating a huge underclass of
poverty, the ones doing the looting might be less inclined to be looting and
more of them might be inclined to be helping with recovery efforts. Bush
and his corporate minions wanted third world momentum, and third world
momentum is what they have. Power to the people, and I hope they steal so
much junk from the corporate thugs that Walmart, et al, goes bust. Pretty
much the same thing applies to the hospitals, as well. They don't want to
report illegal aliens and they want to suck up all the federal money for
giving free health care to illegal aliens while Americans go bust, so good
enough for them if they are robbed blind.
The ones I feel really badly for are the individuals' homes that are being
looted and robbed. There were interviews of four people on the televised
news this evening, individuals whose homes - what was left of them - had
been looted. One man had a pistol in his hand, talking about the several
attempts that had been made to steal his personal belongings from his home,
with the lead in comment by the reporter about some people taking the law
into their own hands.
Power to the people for stealing from corporate amerika that has stolen
their lives. But the ones stealing from individuals ought not live long
enough to realize they screwed up.
C'mon folks. Don't you see it? The state is protecting corporate amerika -
or trying to.
Maybe this is that triggering event that Charles keeps talking about.
Maybe We the People are finally going to turn on the corporate thugs who
have relentlessly rained death, destruction and poverty upon us all.
IMHO, it would be sweet if this spread nation wide, and corporate amerika
found itself under attack by the People from coast to coast.

"So, likewise, a passionate attachment of one nation for another produces a variety of evils. Sympathy for the favorite nation, facilitating the illusion of an imaginary common interest in cases where no real common interest exists, and infusing into one the enmities of the other, betrays the former into a participation in the quarrels and wars of the latter . . . It leads also to concessions to the favorite nation of privileges denied to others . . .
"Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence (I conjure you to believe me, fellow-citizens) the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake, since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government . . . Excessive partiality for one foreign nation and excessive dislike of another cause those whom they actuate to see danger only on one side, and serve to veil and even second the arts of influence on the other. Real patriots who may resist the intrigues of the favorite are liable to become suspected and odious, while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people to surrender their interests . . .
"Nothing is more essential than that permanent, inveterate antipathies against particular nations and passionate attachments for others should be excluded, and that in place of them just and amicable feelings toward all should be cultivated. The nation which indulges toward another an habitual hatred or an habitual fondness is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest."

Hee hee! I like that. I'm going to steal that one and repeat it to some
folks.
Thank you for the correction. I will have to go to the Ministry of Love and
get the latest dictionary of newspeak. I should have used the PC term
"affirmative shopping" instead of "affirmative looting."
According to the "psychologists" on the tube these people are NOT
looting but relieving their fears.( I kid you not.)
Apparently it is very normal ,in this circumstance, for
Lashonda and Lierone to "fear" that they will never get another
pair of shoes again, thereby causing them to take
27 pair from the store.
Beside dis be reparashuns!

I've been watching TV all day and I haven't seen them show a single
white looter. Almost all black. I did see a few Hispanics. These
folks have been smiling for the camera like its ok. Maybe the whites
are looting too and just smart enough not to pause and smile, but it
sure looks over whelmingly non-white to me.
That's exactly what I began thinking as I watched it.
I also began imagining what would happen in LA if it were in hurricane
country. Think New Orleans, turn the black looters brown, and multiply
by 20.

New Orleans Cops Ordered to Stop Looters
By KEVIN McGILL, Associated Press Writer
3 hours agoUPDATED 2 HOURS 39 MINUTES AGO
NEW ORLEANS - Mayor Ray Nagin ordered 1,500 police officers to leave their
search-and-rescue mission Wednesday night and return to the streets to stop
looting that has turned increasingly hostile as the city plunges deeper into
chaos.
"They are starting to get closer to heavily populated areas _ hotels,
hospitals, and we're going to stop it right now," Nagin said in a statement
to The Associated Press.
The number of officers called off the search-and-rescue mission amounts to
virtually the entire police force in New Orleans.
Amid the turmoil Wednesday, thieves commandeered a forklift and used it to
push up the storm shutters and break the glass of a pharmacy. The crowd
stormed the store, carrying out so much ice, water and food that it dropped
from their arms as they ran. The street was littered with packages of ramen
noodles and other items.
Looters also chased down a state police truck full of food. The New Orleans
police chief ran off looters while city officials themselves were
commandeering equipment from a looted Office Depot. During a state of
emergency, authorities have broad powers to take private supplies and
buildings for their use.
Managers at a nursing home were prepared to cope with the power outages and
had enough food for days, but then the looting began. The home's bus driver
was forced to surrender the vehicle to carjackers.
Bands of people drove by the nursing home, shouting to residents, "Get out!"
Eighty residents, most of them in wheelchairs, were being evacuated to other
nursing homes in the state.
"We had enough food for 10 days," said Peggy Hoffman, the home's executive
director. "Now we'll have to equip our department heads with guns and teach
them how to shoot."
At one store, hordes of people from all ages, races and walks of life
grabbed food and water. Some drove away with trunkloads of beer.
At one point, two officers drew their guns on the looters, but the thieves
left without incident. One of the officers said he was not going to arrest
anyone for snatching up food and water.
One young man was seen wading through chest-deep floodwater, carrying a case
of soda, after looting a grocery store.
"It's really difficult because my opinion of the looting is it started with
people running out of food, and you can't really argue with that too much,"
Nagin said. "Then it escalated to this kind of mass chaos where people are
taking electronic stuff and all that."
Gov. Kathleen Blanco said she has asked the White House to send more people
to help with evacuations and rescues, thereby freeing up National Guardsmen
to stop looters.
"We will restore law and order," Blanco said. "What angers me the most is
that disasters like this often bring out the worst in people. I will not
tolerate this kind of behavior."
John Matessino, president of the Louisiana Hospital Association, said he had
not heard of anyone breaking into the hospitals, but he added that thieves
got into the parking garage at one hospital and were stealing car batteries
and stereos.
New Orleans' homeland security chief, Terry Ebbert, said looters were
breaking into stores all over town and stealing guns. He said there are
gangs of armed men moving around the city. At one point, officers stranded
on the roof of a hotel were fired at by criminals on the street.
Authorities said an officer was shot in the head and a looter was wounded in
a shootout. The officer and looter were expected to survive.

Considering that the City of New Orleans (not the suburbs) is 70% Black, who
would you expect to be looting? residents of Baton Rouge?
And tell me, since the very few Hispanics (3%) are nearly 100% from the
Caribbean, how would you tell them from the blacks?

Different problems, travel and disease is much harder with a flood,
but yeah, a big quake would turn the animals loose,
It's fascinating how humans adapt labels so as to not contaminate
themselves by ta acts of other members of their groups and subroups.
If a foreigner loots in another country is "foreigners suck; we
Americans don't do that".
If an American does it, they reduce their subgroup: "We white Americans
don't do that; it's the blacks."
If they ARE black Americans they go: "We educated black Americans don't
do that; only poor black Americans do that."
If they are poor black Americans they go: "No, only poor black
Americans from New Orleans do that".
Fascinating behaviour :)
Oh and we all do it, not just Americans.
No, you are wrong. I speak to 'propensity'...the likelihood of behavior
over mass populations. I argue that blacks are volatile...their temperment
is not condusive to lawful self control. Freud defined that part of human
consciousness called the super-ego where people adjust behavior not on
calculated outcomes but upon some notion of 'betterment'...ie...morality.
Right and wrong exist upon that level of developed consciousness...and from
that, we have developed 'law', and by it's enforcement, order. Law did not
just spring up out of nowhere. It is rooted to our sense of rightness and
wrongness and betterment.
The CIVIL minded human being does need a lot of law ENFORCEMENT to be 'law'
abiding for they exist upon inner notions of right and wrong MORE than what
they can get away with [which again Freud defined that level of 'calculated
outcomes' as the egotistical level of purview]. Psych 101, I realize; but
it lends insights into the behaviors we are seeing in New Orleans in the
black community now.
I think it would bear out that 'statistcally' speaking, Blacks would be
found far more likely to break law when there is no authority around than
whites because of their mindset makeup (their temperment and way of seeing
the world), which I argue, cannot understand the higher realms of
abstraction that right and wrong exist upon [are duller to that realm]. As
a rule, they exist in civilization like dogs that have learned tricks and
perform, but when authority is not around, they revert back to their more
animalistic nature and work upon 'ego' levels of understanding [what they
can get away with...everything calculated, right and wrong of no cognitive
concern].
There are many whites that would work upon such levels also...of course.
But not on the mass levels we are seeing in the black community as this
tragedy [and others we have witnessed] in New Orleans is 'allowing' us to
see [ie into the natural state of African black people 'enmasse' and why
they are destroying civilization as we integrate not just their presence
into our own, but their 'influence' upon our mindsets [especially the young
who grow up to be our new leaders]. Given a whites only population, I'd
argue that we see people policing themselves far more effectively than this
mass chaos we are hearing and seeing now in N.O.
OPEN YOUR EYES. See things for what they are. Why do you bend over
backwards to make excuses for blacks? I just don't understand that; it is
as plain as day. And I'm not arguing for anything bad against blacks, but
only that whites stop their guilt trip and take back the controls they need
to have to be RESPONSIBLE. Caucasians are just letting the world go to pot.
Shame on us all.
I'm curious. Did we see this level of violent behaviors after the Asian
Tsunami? Don't point out single events, for I'm sure people looted
some...but did emergency workers have to stop search and rescue to police
the areas there? I'm telling you, African blacks are ruining everything
[or...whites for letting it happen].
New Orleans is itself an overwhelmingly nonwhite city, so don't act so
surprised.
Most of the people left behind when New Orleans was evacuated were left
behind because they were dirt poor, and in New Orleans that
overwhelmingly means black.
Most of the whites could get out of town, and did get out of town.
You seem also to have not noticed that the overwhelming majority of
blacks have been suffering without drinking water for almost five sdays,
and most of them have been suffering in good order.
Take your racism and jam it up your ASS.

The incapacity of a weak and distracted government may

--Gibbon, "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire"
It is interesting on one level...but very scary on another, how people can
be so easily led enmasse to ignore reality.
ON a personal level, I know I cannot coexist with what is taking place.
Like white flight, I have withdrawn from my rightful place in life as fought
and won by my forebears, and I am feeling more and more 'cornered' as time
goes. It ultimately comes down to survival. LIke I said, I believe I am
ahead of my times.
BTW, you can force 'behavior'...but not attitude. Experience forms
attitude. I'm just someone who has been forced to behave in certain ways,
and damn tired of 'hiding' my real ATTITUDE. It's all all a lie we live
under these days. And it's creating a very unhealthy society.
