Chairman Obama has no intention of damaging his political standing by
supporting a repeal of DADT.

The Chairman does not need to worry about keeping his promise to the gay
community to repeal DADT, since he is assured of their loyal support in the
next election. But repealing DADT would anger more conservative swing voters,
those who voted for Obama not because they liked his liberal ideology, but
because they hated Bush more.

Since there is no need to pander to a special interest group whose loyalty you
can take for granted, the Chairman will not risk his own political career by
supporting a controversial issue that the majority of Americans oppose.

As much as Obama likes queers, he likes keeping his job more. Queers
would be better off voting Republican, then the Democrats might pander
to them to get them back as loyal Democrats.
