//Wilfahrt, CPL Andrew Charles age 31, was killed Sunday, February 27 while on foot patrol outside of Kandahar, Afghanistan. He is survived and sadly missed by parents Jeff and Lori, sister Martha and brother Peter of Rosemount MN, many loving relatives and friends and the 3rd platoon 552nd MP Battalion U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by Chuck and Al. We would like to thank the U.S. Army for what they gave to and did for Andrew and for treating our family exceptionally well in this difficult time. Andrew was a remarkable man. He was compassionate, smart, and witty. He was an admirer, composer and player of music who believed deeply in art and humanity. Andrew was fascinated by math, palindromes, maps, patterns, mashed potatoes and the absurd. He continually searched for meaning; observing and seeking to
understand life and nature's many mysteries. To honor Andrew, our family encourages all to promote peace in their daily lives and to contact their congressperson about bringing our troops home so other families won't experience the loss of a loved one as we have. Andrew deeply loved his family and friends and he was deeply loved by many. We will never forget him. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to the Minnesota Armed Forces Services Center, the American Civil Liberties Union or OutFront Minnesota. A Celebration of Andrew's life will be held on Friday, March 4 from 1-5 pm at the Fort Snelling Officers' Club at Hwy. 5 and Post Road. Private interment. www.whitefuneralhomes.com\\
RIP Andrew.

Jeff and Lori Wilfahrt will tour the state of Minnesota with ex-soldiers, campaigning against proposed legislation that would define marriage in the state as being between a man and a woman only.
Their son Andrew died when a bomb exploded under a bridge in Afghanistan in 2011.
Corporal Wilfahrt was part of the 552nd military police and was killed near the southern city of Kandahar where his unit was deployed.\\
