Having just read Hitchens' "The Broken Compass", I am somewhat surprised
that anyone would attribute such an attitude to him. Do you have any
examples of his writing that would support your view?
The only examples that the wretched Andy could ever produce to explain
his jaundiced and inexplicable posts is a hypodermic needle and a
phial of drugs.
We're similar in many respects and both write about the same thing. He
writes about issues of respectability, I about issues of respect.
Take the song Fuck You by Lily Allen.
...was slated in either the Mail or The Express, in typical display of
the effects of narrow mindedness on quality journalism as "vulgar"
This song is about bullying and anti-social attitudes. Bullying, for
whether you wear glasses , have crutches , are ginger , are brown or
wear a turban destroys lives and *causes* kids to drop out of school ,
take drugs and or commit crime. And those who perpetrated or witnessed
extreme bullying racked by a nightmarish life of guilt.
respect is about standing up against bullies , respectability is
conforming to the bullies current fad of cool to avoid being picked on
and get ahead with the right people
which side do you choose?
> Bullying, for
> whether you wear glasses , have crutches , are ginger , are brown or
> wear a turban destroys lives and *causes* kids to drop out of school ,
> take drugs and or commit crime.
Is that your excuse?
> which side do you choose?
Not yours, that's for sure.
It would appear that your entire effort on this ng has one fundamental
aim; to persuade *yourself* that you are not responsible for your own
situation. The moment you realise that you *are* responsible, is the
moment you start climbing out of the hole.
And yours has been to demonstrate a rather snobbish, shallow and vain
lack of humanity. You don't admit your faults or admit your problems
because you're too stuck up. A life spent regarding as riches and what
they can buy above love , whether for humanity, your friends, family
or even your wife. I've made many mistakes with my life. You are too
arrogant to admit any.
