Thanks for the greeting. Have a nice New Year too. But Christmas Island
will be first into 2010; one hour before you. And, as far as I know, Samoa
will be last to leave 2009.

Wise words indeed. <hic>
Xmas Island is west of Ozz...Nz is East of Ozz and before Ozz or Xmas
Island. NZ is not first however, there are some smaller islands.
Happy New Year everyone.
BTW, I've found an excellent variation on the ice cream recipe - use
honey in place of sugar, and Cointreau in place of Drambuie - LOVELY!

What have Gordon Brown and a Snowman have in common?
Come the Spring time THEY BOTH WILL BE GONE!!
Ah, I see there's more than 1 Christmas Island. The one I refer to (part
of Kiribati) is in the timezone "UTC+14hrs", and is always first into each
new day. In fact, as I type this, they are already celebrating New Year.
NZ still has half an hour to go. Interestingly, Samoa is still in
Wed.30th, so we simultaneously have 3 different calendar dates for a
period of one hour every day. Interesting stuff.
The Christmas Island I was on about -

Fuck off, only Scotch Papists consider the first of January the "New Year"
An independent England should put the New Year back to March 25th, as it
was until 1753
TOO HELL WITH THE SCOTCH!!

> What have you got against whisky?
I hate it, when my uncle died last year I inherited four unopened
bottles of Glenfriddich, which I promptly poured down the sink!
The caskets they came in were pretty.

I quite like Vodka though.
Typical pommie Einglischer moron: can't spell a _two-letter_
word correctly and seems to be on a crusade against whisky!
