The Democratic-controlled Senate voted 60-34 on Saturday to end the GOP
filibuster
that threatened to hold up the legislation. The final vote would send the
measure to President Barack Obama.
The 1,000-plus-page bill brings together six of the 12 annual spending bills
that Congress had been unable
to pass separately because of partisan roadblocks even though the current
budget year began Oct. 1.
The measure pays for Medicare and Medicaid benefits, and boosts spending for
the Education Department,
the State Department, the Department of Health and Human Services and
others.

Sorry. Swill is correct. Impeachment is an act of the House, and that
act succeeded. But Impeachment only put the matter to a trial in the
Senate. The Senate found Clinton not guilty. So that settles the
matter. According to the Senate, no High Crime or Misdemeanor worthy
of removing a President occurred.
'Nuff said.
I think the problem is that the "attention deficit disorder"
Republitards only make it as far as the house of representatives part
of impeachment. Impeachment is a 2 part process that also involves
the Senate hearings, or trial if you will. Since Clinton was found
"not guilty", there was no impeachment!
Yes. Not Guilty. The impeachment trail failed. Swill is NEVER
correct.

that passed the House and get back to us when you realize you're

They didn't! If you had been following this thread of messages you
would have seen that Clinton was found "NOT GUILTY".
You're so simple minded! Impeachment is a 2 part process. Accusing
someone of something is only the first part. The second part is the
trial, and if the results of the trial are the accused being found
innocent then there is no impeachment.
NO, YOU'RE MISTAKEN! YOU ARE COMPLETELY IGNORING THE RESULTS OF THE
UNITED STATES SENATE! THERE IS IN FACT TWO BODIES COMPRISING OUR
CONGRESSIONAL SYSTEM YA DAMN FASCIST!

Iddy, like most rightards is furious that Clinton was acquitted even
as the mainstream of his party wishes he was President again if not
for the last eight years.
For sure we wouldn't have an eleven trillion dollar deficit and two
messy wars if Clinton had been able to run in 2000 and 2004. I also
don't think 911 would have happened.

Which is exactly what I said, stupid. Clinton was not convicted, he

Yes. He was. Do you not understand what "impeachment" is?
Yeah, too bad Clinton could not have been re-elected. I'm sure if
there wasn't term limits he would have been. He was still very
popular even after 2 full terms, AND even with the Monica scandal.
I'm sure 911 would not have happened if Clinton was President, of
course Al Gore was elected but Bush stole office and 911 DID happen.

You have just proven once again that you do not understand what
impeachment is. I have already drawn you a picture. I see no need to
continue to waste my time trying to explain it to you further.
>Do you not understand what NOT GUILTY means?
I have stated repeatedly that he was not guilty. Let me try this once
more.
If a man is arrested and indicted for murder and subsequently
acquitted, does the acquittal remove the indictment from his criminal
record?
>Well if he wasn't convicted why do you spend so much time on the
>internets trying to convince the world that Clinton was impeached?
Because he was, fool!
>I'm not confusing anyone except for Republitards like you who rely on

You are the one who is confused.
Good! Because I'm tired of you misinforming the other readers of this
group!
I'm not confused at all. I know that Clinton was not impeached!
Actually the impeachment failed. He was acquitted. Do you not
understand what acquitted is?
Tim, These guys are hopeless. If an accused killer is found innocent
by a court of law they still think it's a killer.
Impeachment is an indictment. Is an indictment removed from a
defendant's record if he is acquitted? No. He remains an indicted
felon, just not a convicted one. Just like Andrew Johnson who, my
elementary teachers taught me, was the first US President to be
impeached, Clinton was acquitted by the Senate. The fact remains that
the impeachments of Johnson and Clinton still stand as impeachments
though neither was convicted.
I ask again, is a defendant's criminal record expunged if he is
acquitted?
Again you show yiour ignorance. If a man is indicted for murder then
acquitted in court, the indictment is not removed from his criminal
record. He remains an indicted felon though not a convicted one.
You are not arguing legal points or correct definitions or legal
procedures, you're argument is entirely partisan and emotional and has
little to do with reality.
Yes, he was. Clinton was the second American President to be
impeached. Neither was convicted by the Senate, but the House
impeachment still stands.

>Clinton was not guilty!
Agreed. But his acquittal in the Senate does not mean he was not
impeached by the House.
Something else Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton have in common, in both
cases, their impeachments were entirely political in nature and had
nothing to do with any actual illegal acts or job performance issues.
Both were impeached (for purely political reasons) by the opposition
party in the house and neither was convicted in the Senate despite its
also being controlled by the opposition. Both will stand in history
as impeached Presidents though neither was convicted and both served
the remainder of their terms.
Yes he was.
What failed was conviction in the Senate. But the House impeached him.
It was of course all political and doomed from the start, but you are
confusing impeachment with conviction.
If he is not convicted then he is not a felon, you stupid fucker!
You are not dealing in reality, and you show your partisanship. You
just look really stupid calling aquitted people felons.
You should stop trashing Clinton, the greatest President of the last
30 years!
Fortunately neither was impeached because the House of Reps does NOT
have the final say. The House might very well have wanted them to be
impeached but the Senate put the smack down and said "no impeachment!"
Wrong. The House impeached Andrew Johnson and the House impeached Bill
Clinton. It just is what it is, dearie. In both cases, the Senate
refused to convict. That does not erase the House impeachments. Take a
civics lesson.
By refusing to convict, it makes the whole case irrellevant! That
means it's not worth talking about!
Then stop talking about it.
You are still incorrect. He was impeached; he was not convicted.
And that explains your many posts on the subject, right?
He was NOT impeached by the Senate!
I'm just doing my civic duty to correct your misinformation on the
subject eh!
What does the Constitution say you can be impeached for? Was
President Clinton found guilty of any of them?
Duh, fool, that's because the Senate is not the body that does the
impeaching.
He WAS impeached by the House, which is how the process works. He was
impeached in the House but acquitted in the Senate,
You show a fundamental failure to understand basic civics here,
dearie. You're embarrassing yourself.
Of course not. He finished his term. He was acquitted of the
impeachment charges. He was impeached in the House and acquitted in
the Senate.
I'm sorry but were you confused about this?
Now, hold on a minute, wait!
I wanna try to help you out here. I think you got it bassackwards!
You seem to be thinkin' that the Senate trial came before the house
impeachment trial. A quick fact-check will show you that the standard
way of conducting this procedure in these United States of America is
that the House holds it's trial first. After that the trial moves to
the Senate.
Another who is unclear on the difference between impeached and convicted.
The Senate CAN'T impeach. Only the House has that power.
Are you really this stupid, or are you just having us on?
End of story, according to the Constitution of the United States of
America - the impeachment attempt failed. End of Story.
hint: read the constitution.
It's highly doubtful you could do any such thing since you've
demonstrated that you are completely ignorant on impeachment.
> I think you got it bassackwards!
No, I checked and it's you.
> You seem to be thinkin' that the Senate trial came before the house
> impeachment trial.
Show where you got that completely loony impression from, dearie. What
on earth gave you the impression I thought any such thing? Are you
sniffing glue?
> A quick fact-check will show you that the standard
> way of conducting this procedure in these United States of America is
> that the House holds it's trial first.
BWAHAHAHHAAAHAHAAAA!!!!!
"The House holds it's [SIC] trial first!" BWAHAAAHAHAHA!!
Other than being illiterate AND civically stupid, what other tricks
can you perform to amuse your betters, dearie?
The House does not hold any trial, sweetums. the House impeaches, the
SENATE holds the trial.
> After that the trial moves to
> the Senate.
The trial doesn't move anywhere. If the House approves Articles of
Impeachment, the Senate then holds the trial. In Clinton's case, he
was impeached in the House and acquitted at the trial in the Senate.
We of course knew it would be this way because the numbers weren't
ever there for the stupid Republicans to carry off their political
stunt, but they pushed it anyway.
Look, dearie, you're simply proven wrong on this whole embarrassing
claim of yours that Clinton wasn't impeached. He was, and he was then
acquitted.
Now stop sniffing glue.
The impeachment was successful. The removal from office was not.
That is not what the Constitution says. Let's see, "landrod" vs US
Constitution. Guess who wins. The impeachment attempt failed.
Thanks for playing.
I did. It says the Congress shall have the power to Impeach and the
Senate shall try the President on the Articles passed by Congress.
Nobody can deny that Congress impeached him by passing Articles of
Impeachment. It's part of the Congressional record and appears or will
appear that way in history books. If Congress impeached him that means
he WAS IMPEACHED.
Why are you making an issue of this? We both agree he was not guilty.
What you're saying is equivalent to if a Grand Jury indicts you for
robbing a 7-Eleven and you go to trial and the jury finds you not
guilty, that you were never indicted. You WERE indicted, just as the
President WAS impeached.
Because that's what an Impeachment is. It's a form of indictment.
> End of story, according to the Constitution of the United States of
> America - the impeachment attempt failed. End of Story.
An impeachment attempt fails if Articles of Impeachment are offered and
Congress either does not vote on them or votes them down. If it passes
the House, that's a success, and it forces a Senate trial. But it
doesn't remove a President. The Senate trial does that.
Sorry Tim, you're wrong. Iarnrod has it correct. I think it can be
agreed among everybody who understands anything that you need to be
ignored on questions of what the Constitution does or doesn't say, since
you understand none of it.
