The Republicans are still trying to block every legislation so nothing will
be done in the country. They're bend on making this President fail and the
country along with him.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091213/ap_on_bi_ge/us_congress_spending

The Democratic-controlled Senate voted 60-34 on Saturday to end the GOP
filibuster
that threatened to hold up the legislation. The final vote would send the
measure to President Barack Obama.

The 1,000-plus-page bill brings together six of the 12 annual spending bills
that Congress had been unable
to pass separately because of partisan roadblocks even though the current
budget year began Oct. 1.

The measure pays for Medicare and Medicaid benefits, and boosts spending for
the Education Department,
the State Department, the Department of Health and Human Services and
others.

Bush signed that same legislation every year, to fund all that worthless
activity. Never saw a dime from those budget deals, and never will, so
who gives a sh*t.

That's very slanderous of you!
The impeachment failed. It didn't stand up to the conviction.
If someone was accused of a murder and was tried in court, and then
they found out the murder was performed by someone else, do they still
call the first person a murderer? HELL NO!
You can be charged with slander for defaming a persons reputation like
that. I'm sure glad you don't work in the legal justice field. Every
time they bring 5 guys up in the window for the victims to pick the
guilty one you would throw them all in prison just because they are
suspects.

Sorry. Swill is correct. Impeachment is an act of the House, and that
act succeeded. But Impeachment only put the matter to a trial in the
Senate. The Senate found Clinton not guilty. So that settles the
matter. According to the Senate, no High Crime or Misdemeanor worthy
of removing a President occurred.

'Nuff said.

I think the problem is that the "attention deficit disorder"
Republitards only make it as far as the house of representatives part
of impeachment. Impeachment is a 2 part process that also involves
the Senate hearings, or trial if you will. Since Clinton was found
"not guilty", there was no impeachment!

You're so simple minded! Impeachment is a 2 part process. Accusing
someone of something is only the first part. The second part is the
trial, and if the results of the trial are the accused being found
innocent then there is no impeachment.

Iddy, like most rightards is furious that Clinton was acquitted even
as the mainstream of his party wishes he was President again if not
for the last eight years.

For sure we wouldn't have an eleven trillion dollar deficit and two
messy wars if Clinton had been able to run in 2000 and 2004. I also
don't think 911 would have happened.

Agreed. But his acquittal in the Senate does not mean he was not
impeached by the House.

Something else Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton have in common, in both
cases, their impeachments were entirely political in nature and had
nothing to do with any actual illegal acts or job performance issues.

Both were impeached (for purely political reasons) by the opposition
party in the house and neither was convicted in the Senate despite its

Fortunately neither was impeached because the House of Reps does NOT

I wanna try to help you out here. I think you got it bassackwards!
You seem to be thinkin' that the Senate trial came before the house
impeachment trial. A quick fact-check will show you that the standard
way of conducting this procedure in these United States of America is
that the House holds it's trial first. After that the trial moves to
the Senate.

End of story, according to the Constitution of the United States of
America - the impeachment attempt failed. End of Story.

It's highly doubtful you could do any such thing since you've
demonstrated that you are completely ignorant on impeachment.

No, I checked and it's you.

Show where you got that completely loony impression from, dearie. What
on earth gave you the impression I thought any such thing? Are you
sniffing glue?

BWAHAHAHHAAAHAHAAAA!!!!!

"The House holds it's [SIC] trial first!" BWAHAAAHAHAHA!!

Other than being illiterate AND civically stupid, what other tricks
can you perform to amuse your betters, dearie?

The House does not hold any trial, sweetums. the House impeaches, the
SENATE holds the trial.

>  After that the trial  moves to
> the Senate.

The trial doesn't move anywhere. If the House approves Articles of
Impeachment, the Senate then holds the trial. In Clinton's case, he
was impeached in the House and acquitted at the trial in the Senate.
We of course knew it would be this way because the numbers weren't
ever there for the stupid Republicans to carry off their political
stunt, but they pushed it anyway.

Look, dearie, you're simply proven wrong on this whole embarrassing
claim of yours that Clinton wasn't impeached. He was, and he was then
acquitted.

Now stop sniffing glue.

The impeachment was successful. The removal from office was not.

That is not what the Constitution says. Let's see, "landrod" vs US
Constitution. Guess who wins. The impeachment attempt failed.
Thanks for playing.

I did. It says the Congress shall have the power to Impeach and the
Senate shall try the President on the Articles passed by Congress.

Nobody can deny that Congress impeached him by passing Articles of
Impeachment. It's part of the Congressional record and appears or will
appear that way in history books. If Congress impeached him that means
he WAS IMPEACHED.

Why are you making an issue of this? We both agree he was not guilty.

What you're saying is equivalent to if a Grand Jury indicts you for
robbing a 7-Eleven and you go to trial and the jury finds you not
guilty, that you were never indicted. You WERE indicted, just as the
President WAS impeached.

Because that's what an Impeachment is. It's a form of indictment.

An impeachment attempt fails if Articles of Impeachment are offered and
Congress either does not vote on them or votes them down. If it passes
the House, that's a success, and it forces a Senate trial. But it
doesn't remove a President. The Senate trial does that.
