Ms. Schmidt could not be reached for comment on Saturday, with voice
mailboxes full at all three of her offices. Her campaign manager did
not return a phone call.

Several Republicans who were on the House floor said afterward that
Ms. Schmidt did not appear to know she was referring to a
much-decorated veteran.

"The poor lady didn't know Jack Murtha was a Marine - she really just
ran into a hornet's nest," said Representative Jack Kingston of
Georgia.

Representative David Dreier of California said, "Very clearly, she did
not know that Jack Murtha was a Marine."

So it would've been ok to call a non-Marine fellow member of the House
a 'coward'? Second stupid statement.

I expect that bitch will be gone next election .. and deservedly so.

Their 'spit' remark was rhetorical. She insulted him by calling him a
coward, then lied about it:

REP. SCHMIDT: He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message,
that cowards cut and run, Marines never do.

REP. SCHMIDT: Mr. Speaker, my remarks were not directed at any member
of the House and I did not intend to suggest that they applied to any
member. Most especially the distinguished gentleman from Pennsylvania.
I therefore ask for unanimous consent that my words be withdrawn.

Jack Murtha was once a marine but he has sold his soul to the devil by
acting as the front man for the terrorist supporting branch of the
democratic party.
He is a used up old man just doing what his bosses tell him to do. It is
just like when they tried to sell cut-and-run Kerry as some kind of
hero. Only in Kerry's case he NEVER was.
The people running the democratic party would sell out every services

Murtha knows that Vietnam veterans were sold out by politicians. He
also knows that if the Democrats help the Iraqi terrorists defeat the
USA, then Democrats will be able to blame Republicans for the failure
in 2008. It's just like the gun control advocates who shoot people,

Rep. Blumenauer Calls For Immediate Troop Withdrawal

Margy Lynch, KOIN News 6

PORTLAND -- In the past four weeks, an average of three American
soldiers have lost their lives every day -- the highest death rate since
last winter.
The United States death toll has now surpassed to 2,090 since the war
began in March 2003.

Oregon Rep. Earl Blumenauer (pictured) says those numbers are proof
that "staying the course" in Iraq is no longer an option. He wants the
troops out now and outlined his plan Monday morning.

Blumenauer says he was never a supporter of the attack on Iraq. Now he
says the United States' position is worse off than he ever imagined. He's
calling on Congress to pull troops now and bring most of them home.

"Our troops have done their job, Saddam Hussein is in custody.
Two-and-a-half years after Bush's "Mission Accomplished" statement, a
quarter of a trillion
dollars spent and lives lost," Blumenauer said Monday.

The congressman wants to see an international coalition come together,
groups that don't want Iraq to fall apart.

He thinks most troops should come home. But a few, he said, should
build up security in Afghanistan.

Blumenauer says for now he's showing a detailed plan to the Guard and
other groups, trying to gain support.

Yeah, they believe that if the terrorists win in Iraq then the
Democrats can blame the Republicans for failure. It's like the gun
control advocates who encourage illegal drug abuse, then complain
about drug-related shootings.

You are correct that there is a real distinction between the two.
Because gun-control advocates are usually extremely inaccurate, they
don't murder all the people that they shoot at. Perhaps I should have
said "attempted murderers".

Do Republican Politicians ever stop lying.

First Schmidt directs a message at Murtha referring to what "marines"
do or dont do. Then she and other republican politicians state that
she did not know he was a marine when she made that statement.

This explanation is a pathetic lie. If Schmidt didnt know Murtha had
been a marine at the time of her first statement, why would she ever
have ever referred to the "marines" in that first statement. Why did
she pick that one branch of the armed services if she didnt know she
was addressing an ex-marine.

I can answer that -- it is because Schmidt, Drier and the other
republicans are lying when they said that she did not know that he was
a marine when she directed a statement about marines to him.

The fact that republican politicians will say anything might be kind of
sad if they didnt control everything.

Your answer was wrong. She did not make that statement. She cited a
letter purportedly from a marine that contained that statement. That
statement did not originate from her.

It's not funny (or surprising) that you don't know that a lot of the
"yellow cowards who hid in the guard <sic>" actually served in Viet
Nam. Even from Bush's unit. You might look up "Palace Guard", but
since you are probably an avowed ignorant idiot who spouts the party
line like a zombie, I won't expect you to do so.

Why do I care? My father served his country in that same Texas Air
National Guard unit as an enlisted man (BTW, the lines to get in the
Guard were for enlisted, they had a shortage of pilots) for close to
four decades, including GW Bush's time. My father has flushed better
genetic material after a morning shit than you are made of. His
brother-in-law served four COMBAT tours (complete ones, BTW) in Viet
Nam and was decorated numerous times. He is a West Pointer, career
Army, Green Beret, Army Ranger, and retired vet that was spit on in
Atlanta by your spiritual forebears. He and my father eat at the same
table with mutual respect. If my uncle respects my father's Guard
service, YOU (probably not even a stain on a cheap motel bedsheet at
the time of the war) can afford to do the same by either learning what
you're taling about or shutting the fuck up.

Benedict Arnold was a great hero of the American Revolution until he
made a little deal with the Brits.

> Pretty fucking scary.

Yes, you and the rest of the idiots like you almost always are, at
least on the surface. But some of you may one day learn to think
before you speak.

The truth only inflames them. The trutrh can not help them, so they lie and
lie and lie and scream at anyone who won't accept their lies as the truth.
They think it will be a big campaign plus in 2006 and 2008.

Yeah, it's a well known fact that most of the people in the armed
services are lily livered Democrats.

Voting for a candidate based on party affiliation is moronic. You're
choosing the leader of the greatest country in the world, not who you
want to win the Superbowl. DH and I vote based on who'll be best for
the country as a whole.

Having Islamic citizens and being an islamic state/country are two
different things, but cute how you went in the other direction.

Saddam, while Sunni was for the most part non secular. He was
actually considered a buffer and a safety to keep the Islamic
republics like Iran busy.

What we will see in the future is Iraq, Iran and god only knows who
else ruled by Muslim clerics by Islamic law and united against
America.
