This whole Monica thing is getting out of hand. All he did was
have a fling with a slut and then lie about it. There's absolutely
no proof he did anything worse than this. The punishment is way
out of proportion to the crime.

And while we're at it, don't you think the sentence I got was a
little harsh for just tax evasion???

Al Capone,

I'm a registered republican and I tend to agree with you. However, what
he did was more serious than you are making it out to be. I don't think
it rises to the level of impeachment though.
Clinton has been involved in some serious criminal activity that he has
so far gotten away with. Starr getting him on this Lewinski matter is
similar to J Edgar Hoover getting Al Capone on income tax evasion. It
wasn't what he was going for, and he knows there are many more serious
matters that he can't yet prove, but he'll settle for this for now.

The Average American:
Lies to get ahead
Gets divorced
Tries illegal drugs
Has sex before marrage
Doesn't vote
Is "sick" of hearing about Lewinsky

So I can see why the President has been elected and re-elected and why
he is considered to be such a "great guy". He's just average!

Well the President is not supposed to be an average American...he is
supposed to be higher educated and have the guts to be a leader and a
role model for our children.

Turns out our leader is a piece of sh*t who would hurt his wife and
child for a blow job, then is afraid to be caught and lies about it on
National TV. Who is is trying to fool? oral sex isn't sex? No inhaling
isn't using illegal drugs? He lives in his own world this guy! Plus,
he has his finger on the button. I now believe he really did shoot
missles at a medicine factory and called it a chemical weapons plant
just to save his own ass from impeachment. Why wouldn't he lie?

There are people in jail for POSESSION of pot, for lieing under oath,
and for many other things our great leader has done.

The American people are to blame for putting up with this crap...but
what do I expect from the average American?

This I take issue with. The average person does not lie to a grand
jury. That's a serious crime. Also, just about everybody this guy has
ever associated with is in jail for one thing or another. He clearly
runs with a dangerous crowd and more than likely has committed some
serious crimes aside from this Lewinski matter. I don't think that is
"average" or common.

It's sad isn't it. This whole Clinton presidency has left me with a
sick feeling in my stomach. THings that I thought mattered don't. Things
that I had faith in don't exist. The economy is strong. The average
idiot gives him credit for it. Therefor he can do whatever the hell he
wants as long as the dow remains high. It makes me sick.
This Lewinski crap is very minor compared to other crimes he has likely
committed. People just don't care.

Exactly why this Liar's polls are still high - much of the American
public (mostly leftists) see nothing at all wrong with what he's
done. This country is really fucked up.

The below remarks are interesting, IMO, simply because they clearly illustrate
the nearly absolute ignorance of the average American, and why it is good that
we are not a democracy.

Obviously, assuming the President is bound by the same laws as the rest of the
population, the Congress and the media are obligated, one by law, the other by
conscience, to delve further into the matter and ensure that, if laws were
broken, justice is served.

Regardless of polls, regardless of what it might cost -- it is necessary to
uphold the law, and just as necessary to hold the chief executive to the
highest standards. If this were only for political gain, obviously Congress
would drop it, by all measure of opinion, their actions are not politically
savy. But this is not for political gain, it is being done because it is
their job to do so.

It is not the job of the congress to represent the peoples' views -- it is the
job of congress to represent, to the best of their ability, the
peoples' interest.

Whether the people care is moot, whether the people want it is moot, the only
relevant question is: Did the president commit an impeachable offense?

If he did, even if it costs them the house and senate, the majority has an
obligation to impeach and convict.

This isn't a popularity contest...it's a matter of law. And, by the way, it
isn't the sex, it's the perjury.

Sincerely,
Stephan
