Journalists, bloggers or anyone else who intentionally publishes
concealed carry handgun permit information would be subject to stiff
penalties under a bill passed by the Louisiana Senate on Tuesday. Two
other gun bills also were approved.
House Bill 8, sponsored by state Rep. Jeff Thompson, R Bossier City,
would penalize the release of concealed handgun permit information.
The bill was approved 33 2 with New Orleans Democrats Karen Carter
Peterson and Edwin Murray voting against it.
