Hurricane Alex is the first of a number of named storms that the Holy
Spirit will direct into the Gulf of Mexico and Chesapeake Bay between
now and the total eclipse of the moon in December. NOAA has said this
will be an active storm season and the Gulf is 3 or 4 degrees warmer
than usual, but that isn’t the point of this intervention. God wants
man to gain a better understanding of our relationship with the Holy
Spirit, which Jesus called “The Helper” , as a tool in our stewardship
of Earth and in our eventual migration to Mars and the cosmos.

I did not cause Hurricane Alex to perform in the manner that it did.
I am not Jesus. I cannot turn water into wine, but I have been in
partnership with the Holy Spirit since the Winter Olympics at Nagano
to illuminate this relationship. The Holy Spirit told me His intention
to direct Alex on this path with the intent of plugging the BP oil
leak and restoring the waters and lands of the region to their
pristine condition IF the people of the region would only have the
faith to reach up and touch a tassel on the hem of Jesus’ robe, as
symbolized by the command “Ephphatha” (Mark 7:34).  I outlined the
intent of the Holy Spirit in the commentary “The Heavens are telling
of the Glory of God” which can be reviewed at alt.politics.bush,
search for Thomasw540, sort by date.

But the people of New Orleans and the region turned Alex aside, which
is a good thing, because it demonstrates the power of the Esprit de
Corps which was established by their experience with Katrina and was
employed to prevent Hurricane Zelda from entering the Gulf of Mexico
at the end of that storm season. It is this Esprit de Corps which is
bringing New Orleans back to life and it is this Esprit de Corps that
the Holy Spirit is attempting to employ to do those things I have
written about.

Miracles happen at the tip of our fingers. The only people who can
partner with the Holy Spirit to fix Cheney’s Katrina are those who
have touched the tar balls and smelled the oil and washed the pelicans
and buried the porpoises and sea turtles and are watching their life
styles being fouled and are having their hearts broken by the
irresponsibility and greed underwriting the BP oil spill every day the
leak continues to spew. These little people, people like you and me,
are the only people who can cause the potential miracle the Holy
Spirit brings with the winds to occur. But they are also the people
who kept Alex from doing these things in this instance.

In the near future, between now and the total eclipse of the moon,
what needs to happen is for everyone who wants this miracle to occur
to re-broadcast the command “Ephphatha”  after I post it in on my
Facebook page and broadcast it in this manner. I don’t know how to
make this thing go viral but that’s what needs to happen, both for the
Gulf and the Chesapeake Bay.

You may ask, how can I demonstrate the Holy Spirit is actually behind
this and that I am actually in partnership with Him in this endeavor.
Well, I can’t make Him sit up and bark, but I have been writing about
this since 1997 and those who follow this commentary are familiar with
this theme, which is consistent with my promotion of The Points of
Light Program (which introduces a process for the development of the
Esprit de Corps of the community that depends on not just praying for
a miracle, but planning for one.). The Holy Spirit communicates with
me in a number of ways, for example, by pointing out Psalm 19:1 for
the subject line of my bold prayer for this miracle, and Psalm 19:5,
when the Spirit of the Lord invested the storm system during the
partial eclipse of the moon last week.

However, there is this to consider: when was the last Category 2
storm to enter the Gulf of Mexico in June? It’s been a while and I
called it before the fact (I didn’t cause it to happen).

But there is another signal you might consider: the name of the
storm, Alex. Alex Boyd Conley was one of my best friends in high
school. He was another army brat and he moved to Ft. Monroe when we
were 15, the year of MacArthur’s valedictory at West Point. He and I
double dated and played football together and he got me involved in
our community ballet production and he was a beautiful boy. He’s who I
think of when I hear “Like A Rock”, standing strong and straight in
the sun.

Alex was killed by an ambitious toe popper on patrol in Vietnam. A
toe popper is a booby trap composed of a rifle round in a bamboo joint
with its primer resting on a nail and buried on a trail. When you step
on the bullet, the nail fires the primer and the pellet wrecks your
foot. Except that this one continued through his foot and into his
jaw, up the side of his face and bounced around inside his scull on
puree until it was all mush. He came to me in a dream because I loved
him and showed me his scars.

Alex Boyd Conley. His name is on the Wall. You can go down and touch
his name and, when you do, you are touching a broken place in my heart
and that broken place is the same broken place of all the little
people getting their hearts broken by Cheney’s Katrina. Much of what I
have done since I got back from Vietnam, including, if not especially,
my service as skipper at Club Sud Americano de Rugby, and with the
Points of Light Program, has been to keep the faith with him. When I
touch his name on the Wall, I reach up to touch a tassel on the robe
of Jesus.

        And that’s the truth.
