Let me bring you up to speed. Most of the problems the nation is facing were
brought on by the GOP. You cannot cut taxes and start a war without doubling
the national debt like Bush did. The Bush Ownership Society and the
deregulation caused the financial meltdown and the unemployment. Without the
valiant efforts of the Democrats, the US could have gone into a depression.
Taxes will be raised on the affluent but it won't have much effect on the
average American. Health care costs will decline and the new health care
plan will have to be tweaked, but at least we won't remain dead last in the
22 industrial nations of the world for health care.
No one reads the entire bills in the House and Senate, but I get the
highlights and I would be willing to be that I am a lot more informed about
health care and the other bills in the House and Senate than you are.
You clearly have an attitude, but your post is light in facts. Obama hit the
capitol running and never really got a honey moon. If you think the T-Bag
movement is helping the GOP, think again. The surveys don't look good for
Republicans. It is unlikely the GOP will regain control of the House and the
Senate in 2010.
Go ahead and quote Reagan, the man who fractured the middle class. This is
when most of the problems in the US started.
I would suggest that you withhold judgment and watch for another year. The
Obama successes or failures will be clear by then. I think you might be
surprised on health care. Even though the bill is flawed, the average
American will be far better off after the reform bill is signed into law.
