We are looking for senior J2EE developers with experience in the
mobile sector to join our Krakow team.
Purpose of job
The candidate will be tasked with designing, evolving and owning key
components of the Hands-On Mobile platform for use with high profile
mobile applications and mobile Internet sites (WAP and i-mode) for
major partners and International Carriers.
The candidate should be an experienced developer with many years
experience of producing scalable production quality server back-end
applications that manage large amounts of data and withstand high
numbers of simultaneous updates and queries, whilst remaining scalable
and thread-safe.
The candidate should be a self starter who is keen to work with
technical teams and 3rd parties across the globe.
Responsibilities
* Design and implement technical solutions for server side components
and product deployments
* Interpret documented requirements from Carriers and 3rd parties in
order to implement necessary integrations
* Provide technical leadership and own key components of the Hands-On
Mobile platform
* Frequent interaction with Carriers and Customers
* Provide technical support in cases of customer support enquiries
* Write clear and accurate commented code and documentation
* Work to achieve group targets
Skills, knowledge and experience
* Minimum of 5 years Java J2EE technical experience.
* Plus experience in the following:
- Application servers (JBoss, Tomcat)
- J2EE Platform (EJB, Servlets, JSP, JMS, XML)
- Hibernate & general SQL
- Unit testing (JUnit, mocking frameworks)
- Build systems (Ant, Maven)
- Source control system (CVS, Subversion)
- Web Services (Axis)
- Scripting languages (PERL)
- Mobile & General Web skills (xHTML, WML, Javascript, CSS)
- Working in a Linux environment, shell scripting etc
* Mobile background would be an advantage. Candidate should have
experience working with mobile technologies and understand mobile
phone capabilities.
* Experience of hi-throughput highly scalable threaded server
applications.
* Experience of managing large volumes of rapidly changing xml data in
a thread safe manner.
* Willing to take ownership and responsibility for production services
* Good understanding of common protocols both web and mobile (HTTP(S),
SMTP, SMS, MMS)
* Ability to speak fluent French, German or Spanish would be an
advantage.
* You should be able to work effectively in a team, have excellent
verbal and written communication skills, good attention to detail and
methodical working practices.
