Job type:
Permanent - 2 year initial contract, renewable thereafter
Salary:
Depending on experience
Working Days:
6 days a week total: 48 hours
Organisational Relationship:
Reports to: Project Manager
Responsible for: All aspects of HVAC installations
Job Summary:
Responsible for supervision of shop and site Engineers and Foremen for
all aspects of installation of HVAC sysytems on a variety of building
projects, including a hospital, accomodation blocks, conference centre
and school.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review all HVAC drawings and specifications and control installation
programmes.
Liaison with the Resident M&E Engineer for all drawing requirements.
Preparing all material requisitions for procurement.
Liaison with Q.C. Engineers to ensure that the works comply with
drawings and specifications.
Maintain records of site progress against programme and manpower
estimates to ensure construction targets are met.
Preparation of O&M manuals prior to hand-over buildings.
Attending to the interface between the main contractor and his
subcontractors for final commissioning of HVAC systems.
Education/Licensure:
Minimum of City & Guilds qualification, HNC or equivalent from an
accredited institution of higher education, or a formal apprenticeship
B.Sc. In Mechanical Engineering is preffered.
Proffessional Experience (essential):
A minimum of 15 years progressive post-qualification/apprenticeship
experience in construction projects.
A minimum of 10 years experience in a supervisory position.
Specialised Knowledge (desirable):
Knowledge of the American and British construction standards.
Experience in the following areas is also advantageous:
Healthcare facilities
Residential
Office Buildings
Recreation Centres
Working knowledge of the following aspects is desirable:
Associated HVAC Plant and Equipment.
Welding procedures in stainless steel and mild steels.
