Wikia, Inc. manages various wiki projects with the aim of promoting wiki
communities. The Wikia community has grown to over 1500 wikis since it
launched in November 2004. Further details can be found at

We need a System Administrator / Ops Engineer to help us on our mission
to make content free to everyone. We are Wikia.com - an open-source
company created by Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia.org: the most
successful free culture site in the world.

Join our small team and have a big impact on the development of Wikia
and the MediaWiki open-source project. We are venture backed by Bessemer
Ventures, Jimmy Wales, Marc Andreesen, Omidyar Networks, Mitch Kapor,
and more, and our goal is to build passionate communities around content
that is important to people. We believe in free software and free beer!

What we're looking for:
* 3+ years of systems administration experience in a large scale
production Linux environment
* 3+ scripting with shell, perl, or other languages
* Experience with large scale MySQL, Apache, Squid, DNS and Mail systems
* Experience in the development and rollout of operations processes
* Previous experience in an online business is essential.
* Experience in designing and implementing solutions for a large
installed base of servers

Core responsibilities include: Manage, tune and configure high
availability systems. Perform application upgrades to online servers.
Collaborate with the development team early in the development life
cycle to design supportability into revised/new applications. Write
administration policies.

This position will be a full time job based in Poznan, Poland.
