Permanent - 2 year initial contract, renewable thereafter
Salary:
Depending on experience
Working Days:
6 days a week total: 48 hours
Organisational Relationship:
Reports to: HVAC Engineer
Responsible for: Hospital HVAC ductwork fabrication and installation
supervision
Job Summary:
Responsible for supervision shop and site tradesmen and labourers for
all aspects of fabrication and installation of HVAC ductwork and
associated materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review all HVAC drawings and specifications and control fabrication
and installation programmes.
Undertake ductwork and associated materials control on site.
Checks material deliveries against specification and order.
Supervise and provide technical guidance to tradesmen in fabrication
shop and on site installation.
Maintain record of shop & site progress against the programme.
Education/Licensure:
Minimum of City & Guilds qualification from an accredited institution
of higher education, or formal apprenticeship.
Proffessional Experience (essential):
A minimum of 15 years progressive post-qualification/apprenticeship
experience in a fabrication shop/site experience.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in a supervisory position.
Specialised Knowledge (desirable):
Knowledge of American sheet metal association fabrication and
installation guidelines (SMACNA).
Experience in the following areas is also advantageous:
Healthcare Facilities
Residential
Office Buildings
Recreation Centres
Working knowledge of the following aspects is desirable:
Associated HVAC Plant and Equipment
Welding procedures in stainless steel and mild steels.
Ductwork insulation.
