Amen to that! I've seen him n a gazilloin places! I LARTed him too and
reported him but one person can't get anything to happen. It takes
complaints from multiple people to get an account closed. I'm glad to see it
happened.

If you know a little about PHP and rand() and mtrand() functions, you can
deliver a very readable ref code, Plus ask a question or two that a bot
wouldn't be able to handle. Simple Math problems are popular in some of them
and the random numbes make sure a code never repeats.
I may not be able to recall how to get started with things like that, but
I do recall most of the details I"ll need once I get the basics relearned.
Victim of a brain concussion here.

There ARE downloadable scripts now that do what I described and
unfortunately they're still called "captcha" scripts instead of a more
accurate name meaning people stay away from them. The overall IQ of the 'net
these days seems to be dropping quickly.
A handle on CSS styles would help a lot, too, site-wide. .

Actually, since it is a waste of time for the bots to spider your web and/or
collect the codes, the randomizers make it very difficult for them. AFAICT
there hasn't been a single captcha break amongs any store/companies I know
of. I do know it happens, though.
