lens repair?

My Canon 24-70 2.8L has crapped out a third time, and I need to get
the iris mechanism fixed. I would like some input for where the best
places to get the lens repaired in the U.S.A. and Canada might be? My
previous experience with Canon Canada's service was terrible.

Since I am in Mexico, I would probably need the shop to be able to
ship the lens back to me, which would discount Canon service.

I live in the US and the only place I know where you can actually get a
camera or lens repaired is in Chicago

It's been years since I've had any work done

and I think it was Central Camera


do a Google search for Camera repair Chicago and you will find
Central Camera and a few others


OTOH: If Canon could not fix the lens properly...
it just might be time to replace it

I just bought one of these to replace a Sigma whose iris had crapped
out. :(
