Just a thought. In the US we have cooking shows, like Iron Chef and
Chopped.
Why not a mandate that all photogs must submit on what's in the
basket?? That is, 4-5 objects that must be included in the submitted
pic?
I know this weighs to the still life, but just think of what a great
eye-bender you would have to go through if you were directed to make a
picture of:
An onion (brown, white, red, scallion)
A piece of slate or tile.
Some celery.
A piece of jewelry that includes a precious stone
An item of crystal, as in lead glass figurine, or a crystal goblet, or
bowl, or dish.
Alternative to slate/tile? A natural mineral, like granite, or
malachite, or gold stone, or jade.
This would not be popular, I think. But it would definitely
focus on the photog's eye and composition. Only the best would
participate. (Listening, Duck?) Who would have the cojones to subject
himself to this discipine? Win or lose, I would.
Alex, giggling and going for another cocktail.
