What is it called?

I am scanning a lot of old photo albums into my computer. My old Epson
scanner gave up its ghost and I am looking for a replacement.

The nice thing about my old scanner was that, if I place two (or more)
photos on the scan-bed, it would automatically give me individual scans of
each photo, instead of a single scan of both photos, combined.

What is this scanning feature called, so that I can look for it when I look
for a new scanner.

Yes, it was the Epson software that ran my Epson scanner. As a matter of
fact, I could turn this feature on and off.

I'd stick with Epson

even their lowest price scanner, the V30 has that feature

just go to Epson's web page and you can "tour" the different scanners
they have and get their features
