Guys,
I want to get a Nikon D70 kit and saw that
www.amphotoworld.com has the kit for $654.00. This seemed really low
compared to B&H and others and I just wanted to get some feedback
before I did anything. Is there a better/safer place to get it?

Thanks.

Seems too good to be true, doesn't it? DOESN'T IT??? ;)

Don't fall in love with a presumed deal like that. Think of it this way -
you can spend near full price for a Nikon D70 kit, or you can spend $650 on
nothing. Which is the better deal? ;)

What e-commerce package do you use for the site? I'm getting ready to *try*
to sell prints from my site and have been looking around at what others are
doing and yours is the best so far.

Thanks,

Why shoot black and white? Because it isn't color. Color is for vacation
snaps.

Almost guaranteed that it doesn't come with a battery, charger or warranty.
Those will cost you big, too. By the time they sell you what you would need
to make it an actual useable camera, you'll be paying more than the other
places. I almost got caught by them on the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D. What
started out as an $1100 purchase of the camera and lens wound up to $2000.

Actually you can buy the Kit for about $900 after the $200 rebate and
actually get something.

Thanks! The front-end database stuff was actually written by me. It's just
some simple Javascript and an Access database. The shopping cart is Cart32
from http://www.hostway.com. I've used them as my web host for years, for a
number of websites (commerce and personal) and am totally satisfied with
their service and pricing.

Impressive. I quite liked the site layout. Simple and easy to navigate.
Oh, and I enjoyed your photography too! "Portland Head Light Seascape" is
amazing.

Where do you have your prints made?

Thanks! That is my own favorite picture (and shot on film, no less, for
those who think I'm a digi-head only. ;)

http://www.ezprints.com. They do really terrific work with digital images.

Add that to the "debate" <g>

Thanks so much! I'll give them a try. My buddy works in a furniture store
and has offered to place my photos on consignment there. I print B&W at
home (as I only shoot B&W film), but I have to shoot color for this.. uh..
assignment and I've never gotten professional color prints before.
