Sure, we all want peace. It seems europe wants all the gravy of
'peace and stability' without having to front the necessarry strength
to obtain it [for that, it leaves up to the USA and certain allies].
It quakes at the knees at any dischord that might be necessary to
invoke constraint of the enemies of that peace and stability, and so
it cheers on anyone who might NOT DISTURB THE WATERS of dischord.
Thusly, George Bush was once considered by europeans as the 'greatest
threat to peace' in the world. NUTS!!!
And now, Obama gets this peace prize...for what? A speech?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it best in his recent
UN Speech about Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: "But to those who gave
this Holocaust-denier a hearing, I say on behalf of my people, the
Jewish people, and decent people everywhere: Have you no shame? Have
you no decency?" "What a disgrace!"
APPEASEMENT should not be confused with lasting peace. Obama has
shown himself to be an appeaser...but not a peace maker.
Peace Makers are often paradoxcially, those that speak softly but
carry a big stick.
The world has gone insane.
There is no guarantee that humans will not go primitive,
especially when the Liberals destroy the civilizing stories.
Can you give an example of these "civilising stories"?
Appeal to Tradition is a fallacy that occurs when it is assumed that
something is better or correct simply because it is older,
traditional, or "always has been done." This sort of "reasoning" is
fallacious because the age of something does not automatically make it
correct or better than something newer. This is made quite obvious by
the following example: The theory that witches and demons cause
disease is far older than the theory that microrganisms cause
diseases. Therefore, the theory about witches and demons must be true.

I'm not sure why anybody would sell themselves to any crappy used car
salesmen which is obviously the case for like 99.9% of the sane
posters. Personally i've never supported any teams aside from joining
in with the fun in sharing the moment of pleasure when the people
around me are happy.
ALL POLITICS ARE CORRUPT.
They have to be!
And "you" and me have shit all influence.
HTHelps.
Let the games go on.
"Correct or better" is not the point. "Newer" is not the point.
"Civilizing" is the point.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilizing
Examples :
1. Prayer at public events, etc.
2. Performance rather than ersatz self esteem.
3. Work rather than welfare.
4. Pragmatic evaluations rather than 'affirmative actions'.
5. Reproduction rather than simple pair bonding.
6. etc...
The point is that the human condition is constrained.
Civilization considers the realities of those constraints
with evolved cultural stories that work over time,
while the primitive goes in for magic thinking that doesn't
work over time because humans are not rational within their
constraints. They need their civilizing stories.
> Sure, we all want peace.
Not true, not true at all.
Want this 'we' all want are wars in which 'they' will not be harmed or
even inconvenienced. Only War is Peace. Peace is a sign of weakness.
You call Europe 'cowards'? No, you and your kind are cowards. You have no
idea, none, what Europe went through during the last century. All you and
your herd can pathetically do is watch TV shows and pretend you know then
play generals, sending others, always others, off to fight for your
fantasies.
There is REAL evil in the world, even if only in the form of
insanity. You can't appease that evil for it will come to the peace
table with ulterior design only to craftily take advantage of the
'cease fire'. Hitler did it to Chamberlain. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Kim
Jong Il, the Taliban, Al Quieda, Hamas and other Muslim
fanatacism...these and others all represent world viewpoints that will
not respond well to normal comprimise of negotiation. In effect, some
world views cannot co-exist with other world views, which leaves the
struggle a 'life and death' one. Sorry; but that means war.
Of course, one solution is always just to 'submit'...to give up and
allow the enemy his way, so all them screamie-meamie women-ie sissy
folk don't get all flustered ["Eek!, Violence; stop the war monging
violence meany USA"]. That way, war can be circumvented [and one's own
existence shortened, ha].
If the civilized world stood together as a unit, these 'small fry'
factions could be remedied forthwith. But that would take 'force'
through solidarity...but as I said before, some nations simply have
'weak knees' and lack the cohuna's to do anything except 'talk'. And
perhaps you are right about the suffering of last century in europe.
A little moral support for 'their' own cause might go a long way
though.
I predict under Obama, in time, we will see Iran have nuclear bombs,
That taliban take back Afghanistan [them female soccer field hangings
were very entertaining don't you think, ha], and perhaps even see Iraq
convert back to fundamentalist tyranicism of some sort [a second
Iran...oh fun and games; makes it more interesting don't you think].
But you're are right...we won't see much 'war' going on. Let's hope
Ahmadinejad is mostly hot air, or else we might see Israel bombed
[stupid little country anyway]. And I expect that 'other shoe' we
never saw after 9-11 to finally drop as well...and we will be minus
one American city [that one just a guess of course, but something
major will take place, maybe just some subway bombs or something; but
we're overpopulated anyway].
But again...there 'WILL' be Peace under Obama. NO space cowboy like
Bushy in that one, no sir. Europe can rest easy on that one.
Nah...
You don't come into my house and tell me how I should live. That's
all.
Too many progressives want to claim defacto ownership based in
intellectualism, when what estabslishes a society is it's history and
heritage. RESPECT the traditions first to show good
neighborliness...then perhaps suggest change.
What we get though is stuff crammed down our throats [like this
socialized health care, gay marriage, redistrubtion of wealth and just
about everything else on the progressive agenda]. Such radicalness is
not the good neighbor, but an enemy come to destroy us; to throw us
out of our own home and declare us, the originators, 'vile and in
contempt'.
