OK. It makes as good of a case as can be made. For the first year or
so after the attack on the towers, Bush probably did well (read upto
p. 98). If he was less effective beyond this point it was because he
did not readjust his strategy. If you say he readjusted, then he
didn't readjust enough!
He did have some basic flaws in his political views for instance he
didn't know how to play "good politics" (I'm trying to remember what
the author was saying) by doing consultation and garnering consent
from the public (p. 204), but that didn't mean that he did not
adequately respond to the threat or that he over-reacted in terms of
what anyone else would have done under similar pressures and
information and "sensory overload" due to the threat matrix that was
driving everyone there "paranoid."
Of couse, he did not care as much about customary international law
and perhaps the constraints in the constitution to a certain extent,
but a part justification is that these were changing times and
moreover this was a conflict situation.
I don't want to keep on talking about it.
It is pretty well accepted that George W. is a good person but was not
such an effective President. A feather in his cap is that he put an
end to terrorism. He also made prolife efforts in heart.

Of course, I don't mean to convert anyone to be a Bush fan. And I
enjoy constructive talk. I merely meant that it is not a good policy
to call each other names. And I don't so much mind if I'm called
naive, but I mean when someone calls you more....
Hi,
Was just now thinking. I shouldn't hang out over here. You were not so
wrong in criticizing me (it was the way you did it that was wrong!), I
wasn't focusing and I think if I hang out over here I'll be thinking
more about other things than my work. I do enjoy it, it's just not the
right thing to do. Just should create a professional environment for
myself where I'm just focused on one thing.
You know, I should have said that I want you to read the book (which
is what I wanted :) and should have said that half way through it
makes a decent case for the first couple of years of his presidency.
You know when I really like something, I do have to share it with
you :).

I think _The Terror Presidency_ is a rather convincing case for The
Terror Presidency.
