I'm a cannibal and I eat people, because if I won't eat them, they'd die anyway and be eaten by filthy worms and beetles.
But human meat is too good to be eaten by filthy worms and beetles, so I eat humans and do them a favor by eating their flesh, because *I* can appreciate the quality of human flesh.

Strange but true that the spiritual tribes didn't like to bury their dead for the worms to eat and instead choose to religiously worship their fallen dead loved ones by lovingly eating them in a slow deliberate manner, in order to keep them apart of themselves forever, which notion was corrupted and abused by the pirates in order to demonize those peoples for profit.
