Beautiful, just beautiful. Words to inspire the philosophers and poets
alike. Oh worms, creatures who bury themselves in the ground, looking
for happiness and meaning in life. They know nothing of our deceiving
world. They know nothing of Republican and Democrat, Rich and Poor.
They don't know about the 1%. Lucky them.

And then it closes with these motivational words:

"I think the point of this avenue of inquiry is to get people to
appreciate the lives of other living things with which we share this
Earth."

Yes, you may have your own views but nothing approaches the wisdom of
the worm.

"I think we consider too much the good luck of the early bird and not
enough the bad luck of the early worm."

Raising worms for protein results in something like one-fifth the
release of methane to the atmosphere, a good reason to switch to cooking
wormburgers and worm-tofu dishes. Worm farms may be
a good place to invest. The worm farm near where I live is looking
for just such investment, having proved its systems with the harvest of
15 tons of food grade worms this year. There are a growing number
of french chefs who are offering worm and insect creations at their
restaurants, so the future is rosy for worms resulting in
a cleaner, more ecologically balanced world. Someone should tell
J. Robbins about this !

That proposal has been adopted by the Revolutionary Committee in
Exile. Where are our creative leaders? Why is Africa waiting to join
the revolution? Why worms are not in the menu?

Get another name. The Patagonian toothfish had no market
(and rightfully so) until it got renamed Chilean Sea Bass.

The Mexican Lime was a bastard child until someone got
the bright idea to name it the Key Lime.

The Chinese Gooseberry was just a fuzzy turd-like fruit
grown in New Zealand that nobody gave a damn about.
Then, after WWII, it was marketed under the name Melonette
(still no interest), then kiwifruit (still nada), and finally
the kiwi (Bingo!)

What's in a name?

anyway. good to be back. the story goes, or at least the parts that i
recall, i was pretty drunk and getting head when the time came... i
remembered that time when we sat under a tree discussing our future
when along came a spider and sat down beside her and said she was a
good boy as am i. the fat lady stood and turned to her dogs. walked
into a store and ordered more pastries packed with fat and other
deliciousness. the mailman saw while walking past and decided to stop
and tie his shoe. there were five hundred and seventy two pigeons in
the square at his last count. someone should really do something about
the mess. there were so many letters to deliver today, thought the
mailman, i sure hope there is time. many of these packages are for the
little princesses birthdays. officer jolly smiled at the fat woman
with the dogs and winked at the mailman as he continued along his
scheduled route. it was just yesterday that he heard a popping sound
in his lower back and now he wondered if a stop at the chiropractor
would prevent him from making his regular pick up and the barber. the
hair is really starting to pile up now that the cleaner has left town.
it seems like a great set up except for that. and the immediate signal
coming from the radio only serves to confuse the various patterns on
the floor. the strange feeling is one of being right unlike the
feeling others get at the same sound. willie wonka has put something
special in his bards of gold. TGIF.

Given what I know of humanity, if worms get popular some
capitalist will invent a device to attract them to the surface
so people can pick them up and eat them. And thereby destroy
all the topsoil on earth, leading to the death of all worms
AND all humans.

But, back to the topic at hand. No English-speaking person
will eat a worm. Use some other word. The French eat snails,
ferchrissake, by calling them escargot! So do that. What's
the French word for worms? Ah, there, the word is 'vers'.

So call it a Versburger! Done and done! Sounds like a
hit already.

That will be 1% off the top for yours truly.

Did you know that the earthworm is not native to the northern parts of
North American and is in fact an invasive species? It's slowly
destroying native hardwood forsts:

you know what is really, really evil?... once i took an earth worm
hostage... and a whole army of ants came to rescue me from my guilt.

that was the last time i did that i'll tell you!... now about those
kids that when they were young, they used to pull the legs and feet
off things... used to harm and kill kittens and puppies... you know
the kids... always lying, stealing, bullying... hurting other
children... experiments... a whole array of masochistic traits... odd
isn't it... most of them grew up to become head doctors...
authoritarians... experts...

so my doctor tries to empathize with me right? and i go tell a friend
what my doctor said. my friend checked it out and said... that mother
fucker lied to you... then, in a round about way... my friend asked my
doctor and he said you were crazy...

is that medicine? doctor? or the cause of the symptom?

A new device is unnecessary.

A weak (5% is plenty) aqueous solution
of formaldehyde and a watering can works
fine.
