...or maybe eternal-september is busted, but nobody except the godloving
preachers seems to have posted in APT lately.

Has anyone seen actual discussion here in the past month or so?

Just in case, let me just say that events trump desires, always...
desiring, one sees the manifestation; freed from desire, one observes
the mystery.

Actually, hmm.

Jug Frog just posted poetic.
Iirc, that'd be Dez.

I didn't know what to say.
Guess a hi would be nice.

Sometimes I try to respond to the TM
after a Taoist fashion of sorts.

Recently I'd given up, again.

Bao Pu published a lenthy piece
about the evolution of the concept of De.

http://baopu81.wordpress.com/

I enjoyed that a great deal.

Lots of cards in De decks
of relation ships of many types.

Sailing notions
De waves
As far as Dao goes

Dao seas
Simply sit
Waves break
And return

Waves of desire
Carrying me up
Echo Mountain
This morning
Perhaps

Such an event may transpire
Soon after sunrise
Without desire
It is, indeed, a mystery

To wait for a wave
to lift me up

To rest assurred
it will carry this old body
up to the top of a small mountain

When it happens,
If it happens,
Aye, a wave
Shall in return.

Doing the next thing
might be an aphorism or sum such
sense of nonsensical obviousness
which occurs to me at times
since you've said it.

On my way to Echo Mt,
felt the flow going a different Way.

Following my footsteps as they went,
found myself on a slightly different path.

Flowing, as a verb-form, informally,
reminds me of Dao.

As a noun, the Flow,
in finding it, being in it, reminds me
of the Zone.

As youngsters we would often zone.
Mostly zone out.

Being Way-cool, Dao is.

With and without,
desire, names, stuff,
tend, for me, to be two sides
of a five-sided coin.

As with heads and tails
there tends to be an edge-wise
way of seeing coins of realms.

Normally going unsaid
and mostly unnoticed are the coins'
insides and outsides.

A coin's inside is limited
by its three surface dimensions
of heads, tails and edge.

A coin's outside is unlimited,
extending to encompass all there is,
in a manner of speaking of dimensions.

Speaking of beer.
Another One sounds good.

- cheers!

Sounds as though you're going through the "okay, i'm retired, now WTF?"
thinger. It passes, assuming you don't pass. If your age only has 2
digits you ain't old yet. <g>

I thought you were on the wagon... not sure exactly why.

People look at Tao in many different ways.

I hear it as the music to which events dance.

Near the end of last year
I'd quit drinking for a couple months.

This year I'm drinking two days a week.
Never done it that way before.

Was watching a show yesterday wherein
a theorist suggested the manifest universe is
akin to leaves on a tree, with the branches,
roots and trunk being invisible.

As sound-silence, Tao occurs to me.

Back in my band-daze,
the conductor said for us to
play the rests.

Seeing Tao as unity of opposites,
as well as compliments and supplements,
can often be a way I can Tao.

Putting Tao in a can
and being able to Tao
puts me in mind of multiplets.

Tao as a noun
could be a way to see or hear.

Tao as a verb
may be a way to be or steer
clear of many as one is near
and dear to the heart-mind.

As a hat
from which any and all
emerge and return might be
a that to speak of this, an at
place to be where it is.

With nothing at the center
and everything spinning round,
spirals and spheres surface
from the depths from
within for a spell.

At length, far and wide,
words fall short of inconceivables.

With and without intent
our solar system may have formed
of itself giving rise to people who might
wonder about if there is a why beyond
a why of a total eclise of a star
which simply happens to be
such that a moon can
fit in front of it as
if it were well
intended
to be.

Drawing up
water from a table
found beneath the surface
standing without legs, still, a well
is able to provide a special liquid
like and unlike any other while
it runs in rivers, streams
and pools underfoot.

Rambling in thought.
No place to go.
Aside from here.
At the moment. Now.

Looking, listening, seeing, hearing,
aspects of Tao in a bamboo grove.

Would Tao make a spectacle of itself?
A lens through which to view it?
A drum to drum on so as to hear it?

Without a care,
in silence, every wear
and shade is worn,
born, of Tao.

With care
one may find
a kind of rhyme,
perhaps, at times.

Eternity, now,
a gain returns.
Antennae tuned
into the present
asit unfolds.

Sunrise.
Another day.
What more to say.
How words might play
thru ears and eyes,
of mine sighs.

Perhaps I should've said "I feel it as...".
Somewhere between hearing and feeling.

Don't know if it can be seen or not but I can't see it, in the visual sense.

You've never seen poetry in motion?

In Taoists texts
mention is made of a sea
as well as an ocean.

A sea
is what rivers flow into.

Jo, of the North Ocean, was seen,
by the Lord of the River during flood sea-
son, and had some words to say.

http://theendlessfurther.com/?p=1892

I imagine you can see
given a sense of the term,
an inkling of the word.

When Cook Ting carved an ox,
an onlooker was astonished at the skill.

The butcher said
what he has goes beyond skill,
that what he cared about most
and loved the best, is Tao.

Hearing Ting's words,
the listener's response was
in terms of knowing then how
to live life.

Second-natures are Tao.
Taken for granted, after being learned,
people could be said to Tao all the time.

Breathing, eating, walking, blinking
without a choke, without biting one's tongue
nor chomping a cheek nor lip, without a trip,
doing many things is only natural.

Clicking into the Zone
might be heard or felt at times.
Playing above one's head, beginner's luck,
having a good day, these can be forms
of the Ways, of Tao.

When either-or are seen as not-two
then a level of Tao may be entered.

Even when on the level, people
tend to be inclined, to have an impulse
if not obsession or compulsion to do and be.

To mean something by their words.

To look, listen, see and hear, and feel
in many different ways at Tao.

Of being at Tao.

In the beginning, so to speak, to weave
a tale for reasons a bit beyond me, there was
what could be called an Environment.

At that time, prior to time, a stage
was set into motion. The Environment, then,
had no will to speak of, yet there was
or could be said to say a motive,
impulse, energy, to unfold,
by huge amounts.

A Big Bang, perhaps, took place
and time and space began to be.

Collapsing, condensing, exploding out
of and onto the scene glaxies and stars
turned and returned in to you and me.

At times an eye to sea may wink
and catch the wave.

At times an ear, to hear, as it were,
a notion by coasting, lines upon lines
beneath sines of reason.

A feeling. An experience. Tao.
To sense it, smell it, be on the trail,
the path or way within in a way
while all around as well.

When either-or are known
as day and night, as shades,
blending into and out of each
other then a way of looking
at them as being both
while neither might
happen to be a
form of three
in one, day
of Tao.

Left and right,
right and wrong,
up and down,
yin and yang;
when two are
seen as scene as act one
then Tao may be found
behind the curtain
in the wings.

And if not for Hwang-Lao, what would you identify with?
You might be still calling the horse a horse without knowing it by any
other name...
Tao does not provide sentences nor descriptors. I don't call it a
horse because I'm thinking of a horse of course.
I can't call it so I can't say.
But by what I don't say, it never goes away and stays the Way.

If I don't force the key in the lock it will never snap....a wiggle
and a jiggle can make the tumblers find their Way.
If I avoid the "doing of language" the Way unlocks.
The only question remains, "Should I wiggle or jiggle my words to suit
the Hwang-Lao?

I'd go for the Zz, personally.

I've forgotten what others called
what they found when they found it.

Context might have played a drum roll.

When making squiggles maps
the legends would hold the keys.

To draw a picture of the Zone.
To leave a trail of stale bread.
Crumbles to dust.

How much fun it is to ride
in a one horse open ... ... .

Herakleitos may
have found grand ma's
house in a way.

Perhaps, if not probably, via
a silk road made of some material.

Dielectrics, possibly.

Ore, it cud have
bin his magnetism.

As a pony,
he had nothing to say.
