hi i have some questions concerning decision support system (DSS) utilizing object-
oriented programming, hopefully someone can help to answer them : here are the
questions :
1. As to a MIS manager in deciding how to acquire computers for the company while
developing a decision support system, what kinda of model should be provided
in the system and how these models be integrated, what kinds of model management
support has to be included to faciliate model understandability and/or sensitivity
of a decision?
2. if you are developing a DSS for a corporation for strategic planning. one of
the task is to qcquire more translational corporations. how would you design
database access in such system? how do you integrate corporate database (private
database) how would you provide unique database for this system? and how would you
integrate public database?
3. How does the use of object oriented tool can facilitate the use of evolutionary
development methologies in the design of decision support system?
i will appreciate if anyone can help me with these questions. thank you

Well, I have both done object-oriented development and built decision support
tools, so you are in luck...maybe.

I have no ideas what you are asking. Are you asking how to build a system
to help the manager in doing this? Or whether it is possible? Or what?
>2. if you are developing a DSS for a corporation for strategic planning. one of

I don't think that has anything to do with DSSs. But then again, I don't know
whether you are asking about esigning a system to do this, to design a system
based on this to do something else, or what. I think tht rather than deciding
that you need OOP and DSS first, you ought to start out figuring out what you
want to accomplish and THEN figure out if you want or need OOP and DSS or
whatever. Maybe you already know, but you just didn't express it well. Let's
find out in your next reply.
>3. How does the use of object oriented tool can facilitate the use of

It can do this the same way as in any application of OOP (in other words,
you question is a little like asking how driving a car can help tansport you
faster than a bicycle on Tuesdays).
The way it helps is that the changes to the system will end to be much more
localized than if you take a process-oriented approach. For example, if you
are designing a system to display, print, edit, and analyze three kinds of
things and you then decide to add a fourth kind of thing to manage you have
to "touch" ever part of the system if your design is process-oriented. If
it is object-oriented, you just change the new part and there's relatively
little to be changed in the rest. Is that what you wanted to know?
>i will appreciate if anyone can help me with these questions. thank you
I can answer any questions you would like, but the above questions don't
really indicate what you would like to know very well.
If you reformulate your questions I would be glad to try again.
