Respect Your Elders.... OR ELSE!!!

You know, they say that the smurfs were an effort to teach kids to respect
their elders... well, I don't know, I never watched the smurfs when I was a
kid but what I do have to say, at least, is that respect your elders doesn't
have a moral imperative behind it... You get what you deserve for not
respecting your elders... You know, there are two groups that I am mindful
of on this topic... one is the Vietnamese and the other is the Jews...
obviously, the Jews have more publicity and press and more people know what
the traditions and customs are... but you know, I've met Vietnamese kids who
don't speak a word of English and they were born and raised in the USA... If
you're Vietnamese, then you should not respect your elders if respect your
elders are the cause of that... What is 'respect your elders'?... Is it like
a contest between different cultures?
