nail trimming

Well Pippy's neck is better, but now she has little spots on her whiskers
and by her ear, presumably from scratching also. Is there an alternative
to manually trimming her claws? Is there something we can put in there
with her that she'll use to keep her claws down?

I've heard of people putting a brick in the cage for them to run over
too keep their claws filed down. However, one might want consider why
she's scratching so hard. Is it possible that she might have some kind
of skin condition, allergy, or mite infestation that's causing her to
scratch herself? Maybe a trip to the vet is in order.

Sounds like your rats might have mites/lice. The usual symptoms are small
scabs around the neck/shoulder and face area. Can you get Revolution, you can
treat all your rats and be rid of the buggies.
