Account from a girl who has been to see them and adopted one...
"today i went down to my local RSPCA to check out the 42 rats collected in
chester train station. there are 2 young mums with babies. one litter is
older than the other but both still suckling. they are all very
undernourished. there are 4 large cages with females in and there is a lone
female in a small cage by herself.roughly all these rats are under 12 weeks
of age. due to the conditions these rats were left in most have lost the
majority of their fur. there was one lone girl in a state that i have taken
home. it is impossible to tell what colour she used to be. she is
practically bald and she has lost all her whiskers."
