And so do I.

In the past few weeks she has 'choked' a couple of times on her food.
The vet has trimmed off some spurs on her molars, but the problems
continued. Once or twice a day, she starts to 'chew' and forms a lot of
saliva. She has great difficulty removing the saliva from her mouth, has
difficulty breathing and makes gagging moves and noises.

I found a specialist vet in the other side of the Netherlands and tomorrow a
great friend is taking a day of work to drive us there (I don't drive).

I'm nervous and exhausted from these last few days. Vibes for Alma and a
couple for myself would be greatly appreciated!
Els

needs and to get on the road to recovery and eating well again and for

~~~~ Lots of vibes for AlmaMater ~~~~~
Get well soon, AlmaMater, you beautiful rexy bunny! Mummy is worried and
so are we!
Alma, I am a hoomin and I have had similar problems myself. I seem to
have a very narrow gullet, and sometimes get food stuck in my throat.
One time I was in hospital overnight and for 23 hours in total because
the food simply would not budge; I could not swallow my own saliva,
so kept having to spit it out every minute or even more. It was
*horrible* and painful, so I might know what you are going through.
So I hope that you get well soon, Alma, and try to chew everything
very carefully. Maybe you can ask Mummy if she could perhaps chop up
your food into very small pieces before giving it to you? Do you
think that might help?
~~~~~ Best wishes for a quick recovery, Alma-bunny! ~~~~~

thanks Lisa,

Just witnessed another mayor mucus gagging episode. It's heartbreaking to
see her struggle and not able to do anything. the vet explained I should
leave her be in these moments as she needs to 'concentrate' on getting the
stuff out. I know she is happy 20 minutes later, but it's heartbreaking...
