Dear folks;

It's sad that so many folks think bunnies don't live long. The way most of
those poor animals are treated, It's a miracle they live as long as they do.

I posted on my www.bruceatchison.blogspot.com blog today about Neutrino
frolicking at age 7. My hope is that somebody who doesn't know about bunnies
will find this and realize that maybe they don't know as much as they
thought about rabbits.

All of us with blogs should write more about the amazing things we learned
from our long-eared companions. The more we spread correct bunny information
on the internet, the more people we can effect.

Sincerely,

Bruce Atchison - author of When a Man Loves a Rabbit and Deliverance from
Jericho. Both books are available from the www.bruceatchison.blogspot.com
page.

I think you are 100% correct, Bruce. it's important to keep putting good
information about rabbits out there, and that was a cute story about
Neutrino's happy dance.

It's amazing the amount of ignorance there is about rabbits -- sometimes
even among owners -- and even more surprisingly, among owners who adore
their buns.

I interact with the public once a week at a location where a couple of
my group's rescue buns are available to be seen, and under certain
circumstances, petted.

A, people do not read the signage, so they are always doing things that
are clearly forbidden. Really stupid things, believe me.

Then I run into so many bun parents who are not feeding hay ... have not
had their buns neutered ... are thinking about breeding. I could go on,
but you get the picture.

And this is in supposedly sophisticated New York City.

But there is so much to know, and no one knows it all. Also, when there
is a crisis or just an issue, sometimes emotion can interfere with our
ability to do the right thing.

That's why this group, and other groups that support rabbit ownership,
are so valuable.
