"Hershey is so so so sick. nothing but clear mucus, or as i say, apple
jam, coming out of her ass. :( no blockages. reglan, fluids, force
feeding, meloxicam, simethicone, heat, temp monitoring, love, stress
and visiting rights to Jimmy. sighhh - pray for my little girl. she's
only 4 years old."
Sunday 11/8/09 just around midnight
"Hershey died. I had her in bed with me. she was in a cat bed. i felt
her seizure again. i held her, i thought she was calming down. she
open mouthed breathed twice and then she stopped breathing. Necropsy
showed ONE plump kidney on the left. i thought it was huge when i was
massaging/palpating her abdomen. a small stump, hard thing was where
the right kidney should have been. i'm so so so sad. she was only 3.5
yrs old. Rest in peace my little girl. you had a wonder year and a
half with me. remember camping always!"
I'll write more...
I put Hershey in her cat bed in the condo to see Jimmy. He came over
so excited, jumped in the bed with her. He sniffed her, and began
digging at her. then he stopped, looked.... and started to groom
her. He groomed for a bit. Then he jumped out and tried to push the
bed/Hershey out of the condo. He had closure.
Hershey was his confidence. he came out of his shell when they
bonded. he learned it was ok to be pet, picked-up (somewhat) and
loved. I'm worried about his confidence level.
This morning he came out and was running like mad, like he usually
does. then i picked him up (which he always hated, but tolerated),
and he let me hold him for a min. he seems ok. I really want to get
him another partner, but i have so many elders that need meds now,
that i just can't afford another bun. :(
I remember Hershey's first xmas with me - she was flabbergasted by the
indoor tree - aka the xmas tree. But soon did partake in the munching
of said tree.
I also remember meeting her for the 1st time with a HUGE fecal mass on
her ass/abdomen. i asked the asshole who owned her if he has scissors
so i could make her more comfortable. he said no. so i told her in
one week, when she came to stay with me, i would clean her up. she
was so happy to be rid of her "poop tumor".
she was a good camper too. took it all in stride. all my buns do
well at camping. i think they look to me to see if it's ok. so if
i'm there, they are ok. she was a precious agouti girl. Reminded me
alot of a rabbit named Bonnie i once had (for those old old apr
people) i even caught myself calling her bonnie sometimes!
she loved to run and binky and explore. she will be missed

We're sorry. We kept quiet as the symptoms were very like Panda's, and we
dreaded the worst.

I am so, so sorry.
She was a beautiful girl.
She had a blessed life with you.
How many buns in this world get to go camping?
Please accept our condolences. And give yourself a hug for all you do
for bunnies.
