She's nearly 5 now. I got her at about a year and a half old, and she
had spent most of her life living wild or in shelters. It took almost
a year after that for her to decide that head-pets just MIGHT be
acceptable, and it was only last winter when she first hopped up on
the couch with me to ask for pets.
Last weekend I had some friends over to watch TV (bootleg Dr. Who) and
she actually hopped up to one of my friends - a relative stranger who
has only been to my place twice before in the last year - and NUDGED
HIS HAND for pettins! THEN she actually hopped up in people's laps
(and not even looking for food either)! I almost fell off the sofa.
These last few days she has willingly bunloafed next to me - as long
as I kept on with the pettins that is.
This afternoon she hopped up to visit with me on the couch and
actually stretched out next to me! True, the back feet weren't kicked
out, but she was lying down with her back to me and I wasn't even
petting her. I was afraid to breathe in case I startled her.
Awwww - my little bossybun has finally decided that people aren't
going to eat her!

Major inroads for Miss Wendy. Are the circumstances just amazing that
the buns come out of their shells in the weirdest of times?Carla Liza
and Jodie.
Great post, Wendy, hope you'll find a new job that's good for you.

Next step is for her to hop up in bed and sleep with you.
That really is happy news. It's the best thing about having bunnies when
they change from frightened furballs into loving companions. I hope Pepper
keeps making progress in overcoming the past.

Ah that shows how powerful undonditional love can be.

She hops up on the bed for bedtime pets and occasional 2AM visits (in
case I've suddenly decided to do something interesting), but
UnderTheBed is her burrow and she settles in there for the night.
Oh yes! I cried.
(Then again I'm a sap that has been said to cry at beer commercials)
I've only been into DW since the reboot, and was never a big Eccleston
fan, so I'll be sad to see Tenant go. But Moffat and co wrote some of
my absolute favorite eps (Blink, Girl in the Fireplace, etc) so I'm
looking forward to seeing what they can do.

On Halloween I didn't feel like watching any of my scary movies so I
just had a marathon of Moffat episodes. It was incredibly geeky. :)
