Feel free to have a look around. Not sure how many connections the WEB CAM
will allow, not too many I bet.
When you first visit the site, it will ask you install an ACTIVE X control,
which is supplied by D-LINK - the makers of the camera. Installing is safe,
no worries.
If you double click ANY PART OF THE CAMERA IMAGE, the camera will instantly
centre this area on screen, making it easy to follow Harry. However, if
more than two people are logged on, you can imagine what happens when both
people try to move the camera.
Have fun and let me know what you think if my little angel!
Gary.
Will post when fixed!
Gary.

The webcam didn't show up when I looked, but I already love your
Harry! I always wanted a Cockatoo, but when we bought our first and
only bird I thought it was too big to start with. I love their
entertaining nature and I'd mush Harry to pieces!
Remember you must install the Active X or you can't view it.
And its Internet Explorer only, sorry :(

He's definitely preparing for stardom with all that preening :-)

Glad I can share him with all you parrot owners out there....
He's a darling and loves to keep clean as you can see!
Gary.
That's cool - thanks! :)
He seems to be chewing his toenails at the moment...
Heh, I'm pretty sure he noticed the camera move just now - he looked
straight at it and cocked his head...
Lovely bird. Is there any chance of having audio too?

It's working.
Just the picture quality will need to degrade ever so slightly due to
bandwidth constraints.
Leave it with me :)

He does that - always gets his attention.

Done :)
Keep it on over night and make sure you don't turn your speakers down - he's
a wicked alarm clock lol :)
G.
Nothing to see until around maybe 6am or so.
Night,
Gary and Harry!

What about IR lighting, like in the Big Brother house? ;)

He couldn't be any worse than any other parrot who wants the flock up
and out! I got it to work, but was wondering where you are located?
You are six hours ahead of me.
Harry is beautiful. I wish I could give him a snuggle.
Edinburgh, Scotland, UK....
He's a sweetie!!
Gary.
Ah, we figured the U.K.
My husband thinks I'm obsessive about our Mika till he saw your bird
ROOM! Harry was like a monkey, jumping all around and he definitely
did know when the camera was watching. He looks right at it with that
silly side glare parrots give.
I was watching a bit tonight. Did you see him doing backflips from the
side of the aviary? He'd go to the very top, then somersault backwards
through 360 degrees and catch onto the wire before he could fall.
Very cool. I've never seen a bird do that before. One of my budgies
used to occasionally somersault forwards from the perch to the cage
bottom when he was a baby but I guess he grew out of it - I'm not even
entirely sure that it was intentional...
Were your speakers up at the time? :) It sounds a bit like:
Clang, Clang, Clang, SCREAM, SMASH,
Clang, Clang, Clang, SCREAM, SMASH,
Clang, Clang, Clang, SCREAM, SMASH,
Clang, Clang, Clang, SCREAM, SMASH
He does enjoy doing it, sometimes we get the non screaming version too!!!
Gary.
That's his lot I reckon for a few years, however I have promised myself the
next house I buy (if and when I can afford it) should have twice the space
as this one, bith indoors and outdoors. My ultimate dream would be to have
an outhouse down the bottom of the garden which has five or six giant
aviary's, all with outdoor sections, and have a collection of birds.
Maybe one day :)
Gary.
He also has a small piece of wood in his mouth when he does it (he has one
now, and is chewing the wood against the bars)...
Ahyone know what and why he does this?
Crazy bird!!! :)
Gary.

We heard him loud and clear! I like playful animals. It means they
are content, usually.
I can't believe I am actually sitting here watching a bird squinch his
eyes together and fall asleep! :)
I was watching Harry this morning and he didn't look as if he was
moving about that much, but was making loud smashing noises in the
lower corner near where it looks like there are large rocks. Is he
smashing his beak, or tearing at something?
He spends about 3 hours per day in that corner of the cage with a shard of
wood in his mouth, and chews it against the metal. Absolutely insane :)
Sometimes he will do it in the top, other times like this morning and
yesterday, at the bottom. It is ALWAYS in that corner though :)
He seems to enjoy it, been doing it for about 6 weeks.
Gary.
Maybe you can put a huge piece of Manzanita or other cleaned wood in
that corner to simulate a dead tree and he can chew that down too.
I wish Mika would chew. Her lower mandible is always mishapen and I
hate to think a vet using a Dremel on her beak to even it out. I've
tried using very coarse files, but she is not fond of that process :)
How exciting!!!

Also, what time does it get dark there? It's 9p your time and it is
still quite light out.

Harry is only 15 weeks old!!
Should be dark here around 10:45pm by the looks of things...and light again
at 4am. Summer is mental lol :o)

thanks - it was slow going getting it started but after that it was
really lots of fun
i left it on for hours
Correction:
Mario (The Grey) is only 15 weeks old, Harry is 5 years old.
Gary.
Yes, I figured that out, eventually :)
If anything happens to you, I will care for Harry! Hahahaha! He
won't be a Brit any more, though. He'll be American. Do birds speak
with an English accent?
Scottish ones don't :-)
Alan
So, does Harry sound like Sean Connery? :)
