Kiki, who is almost 4 yrs old has stopped eating her veggies the past few
days. She still eats her pellets and hay. I started giving her vit c tablets
as she is not eating her veggies and she has no problem eating those. Do
you think this is something to be concerned about?

I'm not an expert on piggies and have only had ours for about two
years.

Is she still active and is she drinking plenty of water.

Also has anything in the environmet changed? I guess I mean in the
cage or maybe even the temperature of the room. Did you change veggy
brands? Do you have other pigs?

Sometimes are are lazy and go to the closer food mart of veggies and a
change like that can throw ours off for a few days. If we leave in
the bowl it will usually be gone by morning.

Thanks,

ADam

It's good that Kiki is still eating .....however pellets and hay are very
dry...make sure she has plenty of water available. Check the floor of her
cage to see if she is "peeing"....if not give her plain water via syringe
several times a day... GPs' can be fussy eaters...have you been giving her
veges she doesnt like?...maybe try something different. Mine go crazy over
silver beet and although it is said to cause bladder stones (too much
calcium) if they eat too much, it sure gets their appetite going. (likewise
tomatoes and strawberries)

Today she is back to normal - eating like a "pig". The only thing she is not
eating is cucumber. Thanks for the replies.

are you saying that strawberries and tomatoes have calcium issues?
just want to be clear as we just lost a piggie to bloat Monday and we
are a bit paranoid about food now...

thx - Craig

Sorry....having major newsreader problems here...no...tomatoes or
strawberries will cause absolutely NO calcium problems....and my pigs
love them as a treat. They will not harm them, However, never give
them tomato leaves.....these can be poisonous...as are all that plant
family ...potatoes,tobacco etc..(the tomato fruit is ok) (whatever you
do dont let them start smoking..tobacco is a killer)
