As the director of a 501(c)3 cat rescue organization, I have been
rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats for years. As I approach
retirement, I am planning the next step in this fulfilling activity.
My sister and I are preparing to establish a lifetime care home for
cats who outlive their owners or whose owners can no longer care for
them. In essence -- a cat retirement home we plan to call "St.
Gertrude's Refuge."

We have identified a mini-farm property in the gentle hills of
Kentucky just south of Louisville, toward Lexington. We plan to
purchase the property and construct a cattery cottage beside the
residence. It will contain a variety of accommodations to meet the
needs of its kitty residents. My niece is a veterinarian and is very
pleased to tend to the cats and be a part of the overall project.
This is a family affair, full of love and dedication and experience.

Other activities will include reasonable long term boarding where we
can help people who must be without their beloved pets for a long
period of time, such as months, even years. We plan to put together
a pet transport facilitation service to guide and help people who
must have their pets transported, even internationally.

We have seen the need for pet parents to find these kinds of
specialized services, and we would like your inquiries into this
venture. We don't want to take up bandwidth on this forum so
please post your inquiries via email.

Although the rescue and education activities will continue under the
501(c)3, the corporation governing the activities of the home will be
an LLC so we are also seeking investors or grantors. Once again,
please contact us privately.

We are thrilled and excited about establishing this venture in
Kentucky.

Best regards,

Beverly
