I finally got around to paint my early 60's dark wall panalling in my rec
room. I washed them down with TCP cleaner, then gave them 2 coats of
primer sealer and, tomorrow or next day, will paint it light grey I think.
Boy,,,, is it ever brighter down there! I can't believe it.

It's amazing what a little paint can do. I did the same thing to a kitchen
I had a few years ago. I painted the dark paneling a light creamy yellow
and then used a country blue to dry sponge lightly over it. It looked very
French Country when I got finished with it, really brightened the place up.
It also almost completely camoflaged the vertical lines of the paneling.
(But my corners and edges didn't turn out like I wanted them to...wish I
knew Cybe's wife's secret!)

Want me to come over and paint little happy faces on it?
That'll brighten it up a lot :-) <--- see? I'm good eh?

I've gone mad with my colour schemes recently. I used to play safe and go
for pastels, just hints of whatever colour. But now it's bold and bright.

Boy. It's taken many years to paint over that panelling. I watch enough
home painting shows.... but .... will stick to the normal boring colours.
Debby Travis redid a room for a couple with a 3 year old. At the
end-of-the-program interview the 3 year old piped up that the parents
are going to repaint the ceiling she did as soon as possible. It was so
hilarious, Debby left it in there
