It had rained during the night, but it had cleared by the time Ann came by
at 10:30 a.m. We followed her to her apartment so we would know the
shortcut. We got the deluxe tour then sat down for a good chat. When hunger
pangs hit and after Denis worked on her new cell phone a bit, Ann took us to
one of her favorite restaurants, Mama Stortini's for lunch. (I can see why
it's one of her favorites.) In her beloved T-bird, we got a personal tour of
Tacoma and Gig Harbor. Many people in the area forget all about taking a
look at Tacoma, and they shouldn't. It's full of goodies.
http://www.alltacoma.com/ The downtown area is being revived, and it's full
of beautiful old buildings like Union Station. The next time we're in the
area, I fully intend to check out that glass museum! On the way to Gig
Harbor, we went over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, more popularly known as
Galloping Gertie. http://www.ketchum.org/bridgecollapse.html The town of
Gig Harbor is small and picturesque. I can almost see Jessica Fletcher
living there. Little did I know that my memory would be put to the test
later on how to get back! The last stop before returning to Federal Way
was.an excellent used bookstore. If you're a bookaholic, there's no more
perfect hostess than Ann! LOL
