Brach's Candy Corn: Downhill alert!

I also recognize that even in the context of mass-produced packaged
candy, candy corn isn't exactly on top of the heap. However, once a
year, I allow myself a bag of this almost-pure-corn-syrup concoction,
mainly because it has a distinctive taste and smell that takes me back
to childhood.
No more. Brach's, in its infinite wisdom, has seen fit to CHANGE
something that should never have been changed. I noticed upon opening
the bag, that the "kernel" size seemed different, and the finish was
now dull. No matter, I thought, as long as it tasted the same. Alas,
that distinctive taste and smell is gone, although they seem to have
preserved that slightly fluffy texture. Just tastes like pure sugar
(or corn syrup) now.
I suppose we have a bean-counter to thank for this. Perhaps someone
decided that the .0000001 cent-per-bag for flavoring was cutting into
profits too much. Or maybe (more likely), there's a new manager
somewhere in Corporate. We know how new managers love to change
things just to justify their existence.
