Need help choosing a middle name.
Daryl & Tina Williams
have:
Cameron Gregory (Gregory is my dad's name)
Caleb Madison (Madison is my grandfather's name)
Bailey Connor (just liked the names...also hubby was conviced it was a girl
so there wasn't much discussion on a boy's name)
We've always had a girl's name picked out. It is Tiana Lynne. Basically,
we added one letter to my name (Tina ---> Tiana) and one letter to my
husband's middle name (Lynn ---> Lynne).
We've decided on Tyson for a first name for a boy, but we can't decide on a
middle name. We thought about Rey since my middle name is Renae and it's
similar. But, it just doesn't sit well with me.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I love the name "Tiana Lynne". I'll put in my vote for "Tyson Rey". I think
the spelling "Ray" flows better with "Tyson" for a boy but the sound is great.

I really like Raen. Am I safe to assume it pronounced the same as "rain"?

We've discussed maiden names of our other family members. Mine is DeHart.
Not only do I not like it for a middle name, but my older sons have my maiden
name as their last name. My mother's maiden name is Whitehair. My
mother-in-law's maiden name is Battle. Tyson Battle???? I just can't do
that. But, thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Years ago when I named my daughter, Paula, I chose it because I thought it
sounded so feminine. Years later I was chastised by my daughter’s
pediatrician for giving her a name derived from a male name (Paul).
Just this week we named the new male kitten in our family "Obie"--from
Obidiah. My husband initially suggested "Velcro" because kitty jumps at our
legs and sticks. I quickly nixed that one.

We have Jacob Alexander (Jacob was my favorite name, Alex is DH's),
Benjamin Taylor (Taylor was my grandfather's name), and Nicholas William
(William was DH's grandfather's name). We had the hardest time coming up
with the first name for #3. Once we started calling the baby Nicholas
though, the 3 yo would get upset when we talked about finding a different
name. Now he claims that he named the baby. Maybe you could ask the other
kids for some suggestions. You never know. Plus, then they will feel some
connection with the baby.
I really like the name Mickey (mother's maiden name), but with our last
name, it was too close to Mickey Mouse.

was a girl. I chose Rain which fit for either a boy or girl.

make you start thinking of that when you said the name. It is kind of like
me liking the name Justin until my dh suggested we use the middle name Casey.

I love the name Madison. That was my grandfather's middle name. I chose it
as a middle name for my second child, whether it was a girl or boy. It is
also my step-nephew's name.
My grandfather called my son "little Maddy" until he passed away when my son
was 1-1/2 years old. I still catch myself calling him that sometimes and
he's 7 now!!

That is sooo funny!!! I dated a guy for several years named Justin Casey!!!!
He went by J.C. I guess the story was this:
his mom was certain that she was going to have a girl, and she had a name
all picked out. Well, lo and behold, she had a boy!! They couldn't think
of a name, and his aunt said, "Just in case, you should have had a boy's
name picked out." His dad said, "That's it!! Justin Casey!!" The poor guy
had such a complex about that. I thought it was so cute though.
Anyway, you just brought that all back for me.

My niece's name is raine, which is so appropriate since she was born in here
in Washington state. Of course, one can't help singing, "rain, rain go
away.." when she is around-- including her own mother. You don't even
realize you are doing it... I have had to stop myself several times.
My daughter's name is Paige, and she hates it. I really think you can't win
when it comes to naming your child. They will hate their name at some point
in their lives. I know when i was younger, I wanted my name to be Julie.
anyway, i know i am getting off the subject here since you are looking for
boy names.
If I have ever have a boy I will be naming him either Ian, Conor or Seth. I
like all those; they sound strong. there, I am back on the track again
(whew).

Totally cool name, Tina! I like a 3-syllable name as a middle name w/it, so

What about Tyson Clarke? Clarke (believe it or not) was my
great-grandmother's first name. She died giving birth to my grandmother,
and I always said that if I had a girl I would name her Clarke. But I've
always associated it with being a "male" name, so maybe it would work well
with Tyson (which I think is quite nice...)

To hell with giving a kid two first names and calling one a middle name. Be

For a middle name, we gave our kids the LAST names of revered elders; mom's
mom's maiden name, etc. Such names wind up sounding rather distinguished, and
are certainly more likely to be 100% unique. I would venture my Madeleine is
the only one in the world whose middle name is Towner.

I still like Taryn/Taran also. I'm just thinking about my (possible) son.
I think Taran looks more masculine. But, I like Taryn since my husband's

the Tennessee Vols. It was just a kind of potpourri thing...lots of
different tidbits about them. There was a section in the book for people
who had names that were derived from the TN Vols in one form or
another...whether it be after a player or whatever. Anyway, this one man
was given the honor of naming his granddaughter when she was born. He named
her Orange Ann White. There last name being White. I thought that was a
very unique name; but I don't think I would go that far. :)

When we were kids, we'd have eaten him alive. Having two first
names (Steve Howard) was tolerable. Two last names (Tyler
Davis) meant you got tortured fairly often. The same name twice
(Johnny Johnson), guaranteed misery. The gist of the harassment
was that even your parents didn't bother to think of a name for
you.

am mentioning them I might as well say that my middle one's name is Laura
Elyse.) I was going to suggest if you like Brianna with Aurianna, then use
Brianne instead. We like Brianna but it didn't go well with Elena. My hubby
wanted to use it for the first name, but at that time there were too many of
them. (It's funny now, because I don't know ANY Brianna's, but when I named
her the birth announcements in the paper was loaded with them.)

We did this with our eldest son. His middle name is Ross, which is my
maternal great grandparents' surname. Our younger son's middle name is
Joseph, which even though isn't anyone's surname, is my late MIL's
father's middle name (his first name was Francis and well, no way on that
<g>)...but we did want to honor a deceased relative on DH's side, since
we covered my side of the family with the eldest (and their Hebrew names,
also after a deceased relative, don't necessarily match their English
counterparts -- Eldest's is Reuben Natan (Nathan), after my paternal grat
uncle Nathan, but Youngest's is Yosef (Joseph), whose name does match the
English counterpart, both in terms of name and namesake).
