I'm sure if YOU were God, you'd be pretty upset, too.
<
I mean, after all, The Good Lord definitely played a key role
in helping the New York Giants win the Super Bowl -- and
yet, during all of the joy and celebration by players and
fans when it ended, nobody gave Him ANY credit.
<
"That's gratitude for you," He told me, almost in tears, after
expecting someone -- anyone -- at least to say 'Thank You!'"
<
Even the most diehard atheist would have to reluctantly agree
that the only reason the Giants beat the New England Patriots
was the Double Miracle that occurred late in the game.
<
Imagine, for the very first time in the long history of the Super
Bowl, a team scored a touchdown IT DIDN'T WANT -- especially
miraculous because it was LOSING at the time and the clock
was running out.
<
And, on the very same play, the Patriots actually ALLOWED the
Giants to score a touchdown that caused them to lose their lead.
<
This was the six-yard run by Ahmad Bradshaw in which he
actually crossed the end zone with his rear end crossing the
goal line first (How obscene!), which was another rather miraculous
feat but one which we won't even count.
<
THE QUESTION IS: If the first two aren't considered miracles --
Pray tell! -- WHAT IS?
<
In any event, the lack of gratitude by the New York Giants
and their fans will long be remembered by The Supreme Bean.
<
He informed me -- yours truly Ed Conrad -- that He has put
a curse on the Giants and swears they won't win another
Super Bowl during their forthcoming 17-year famine.
<
Ditto for those New Yorkers who also love their blessed Yankees.
He said they shouldn't count on participating in another World
Series until at least 2029.
<
Father Guido Sarducci, an aide to St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, said
the Supreme Bean is running out of patience with New
Yorkers and only has this much left.
