Let me try to bring some clarity to your world view.
Everyone is familiar with gravity and the inverse square law
form of it's behavior. Gravity diminishes with distance and at
a very quick exponential rate. An abstract way to state this
behavior is to simply say 'short term order, combined with
long range disorder'. Almost everything in physics is based
on inverse square law behavior....everything!
Things in nature like lightning, earthquakes, hurricanes and
evolution follow ...power law behavior. Almost everything!
An inverse square law is a specific kind of ....power law.
The physical universe, on the input side essentially, follows
a power law. Almost everything in nature, especially life, follows
a power law on the ...output side.
Now, how can we abstractly describe the behavior of a typical
fluid? Water molecules tend to drag each other along for a
short period of time, but very quickly they become jumbled and
disordered.
Water displays short range order, combined with long range disorder.
Inverse square laws display short range order, with long range disorder.
Power laws also...short range order, long range disorder.
Now what about electricity and all that?
Light is a system which chaotically transitions between
behavior like a particle, and behavior like a wave.
When behaving like a particle, we call it classical motion.
When behaving like a wave, we call it quantum motion.
Or, short range order (classical motion) combined with
long range disorder (quantum motion).
So gravity, and fitness peaks both follow similar power law
behavior. Behavior like a fluid. With gravity and fitness one
is more likely to randomly stumble in a region of higher
fitness/gravity, than a lower one. Randomness favors and
leads directly to order and evolution.
So, black holes anf gravity should be both equally rate, yet
absolutely inevitable. Given enough....randomess, or enough
behavior which acts like a ...fluid.
